I was heart broken when my last Persian died earlier this year, soon after his 19th birthday. I decided the best way to honor him and all my other past pets was to adopt instead of purchasing a new kitten. So I logged into Petfinder.com and start looking at pictures of cats and kittens available. When I saw the picture of Riley (named Crew at that time by the shelter) something about his darling face and "funny" eyes (they turned out to be two different colors) caught my attention. When I called the Rockingham/Harrsonburg SPCA and found that he had been there for over 4 weeks and was still available I decided to make the 2 hour drive down. The moment I held him he started to purr, just like my late Rocky had done 19 years earlier when I had first held him. I adopted Riley immediately and as I looked over his paperwork it was then I realized the "signs" that it was just meant to be. He had when brought to the "Rock"ingham SPCA on the very day my late Rocky had turned 19, June 18, 2013. I also want to mention that the staff there were wonderful.
