Django - A Petfinder Happy Tail

Adopted Dog

Adopted from Jackson County Humane Society, Newport, AR.

The end of my Sophomore year at college, I really wanted a dog, but most of the shelters in my area have a very limited selection of animals. I began perusing Petfinder.com and at first I didn't see any puppies that caught my eye. Then, one day while at home in my room, I saw a puppy named Jose Cuervo. I called the shelter he was located at, just to ensure he was still available, and while I was on the phone with the woman, a little puppy picture caught my eye. He looked very shy but I immediately knew he was meant to be my dog. I immediately asked the woman if he was available and she said yes. I filled out an application and waited to be approved. Four days later, I got the email I'd been waiting for, Django, the puppy I'd stumbled across by pure luck was MINE. On June 7, 2013, I drove to a rest stop in Maine and waiting anxiously for his transport truck to arrive. I was the first in line when the truck pulled up and when the man handed Django to me, I almost cried. Django was very scared and he didn't jump around and bark like the other dogs that were being adopted. He cowered under a picnic bench until I coaxed him out and held him. He looked up at me and licked my face, and I knew he was the perfect dog. We are now inseparable and he follows me everywhere. He is the best dog I could have ever asked for. Thank you Petfinder!! Without this site I would have never found my little fur baby!
