I had just moved from California in August 2012,and had to put my sweet kitty, Dahlia, to sleep, due to GI cancer. I didn't really feel ready to get a new kitty, but my son and our other cat were REALLY missing Dahlia, so I went on Petfinder to see if there were any kitties worth checking out in the area.
I found a few kitties on the site whose photos and stories caught my eye and off to KHS we went! When we walked into the shelter, a chorus of "pick me" meows filled the air as we looked in each kennel. And then.... I saw her. In kennel #36, the most adorable tuxedo kitty on the planet, with her dainty white paw pressed against the plexiglass, her mouth opening to talk, but no sound coming out. It was love at first sight, and I knew that she would be the one to heal our family's broken hearts from Dahlia's sudden departure.
That was a year ago, and today, Felicity is the most perfect fit imaginable. She is sweet and loving and playful and cuddly and has the most pure heart of any kitty in the world. She makes me smile when I'm sad, with a little kiss and some purring, she makes us laugh as she plays, especially with her kitty "brother". She adores Shadow, our solid black cat, who took to her immediately and is very protective of her, and the two of them can be found napping together, curled around one another as though they were litter mates.
Felicity means "happiness" and that is just what our precious baby girl has brought to our family: happiness and joy and healing!
