The first thing I wanted when I moved out was not furniture or any material item, but I wanted a dog. I knew I wanted to rescue one from a shelter so I could not only save one but give space for another. I would walk shelter row after shelter row and scour Petfinder every chance I could. Then I saw "Mickey" in the adoptable section for Edmond Animal Shelter and went to look at him the next day. From the moment I saw him, I knew he was the one, and that's where my story with him began. He has a larger than life personality, even more then some people. There is never a dull moment around my house, and he makes me laugh every day. Although he is always keeping me busy, I still wonder what his life was before me. I guess that's one thing I will never know but I'm so thankful that he is in my life now. He is part of my family. I have to say Edmond was right; he is one special dog, and I'm that special person he chose to trust.
I tell everyone to adopt because even though you never know what you will get, you also never know what you are passing up. I believe people don't rescue dogs but instead they rescue us.
