There she was. Maybe 25, 30 pounds. She was underweight and quarantined as she had the kennel cough. I walked up to her. Her tail was whipping violently like we've been separated for the longest of time. My hand glides through her warm silky fur and with a wet, slobbery kiss, she touches my face. It's as if I've known her all this time. I felt as if there wasn't any force in the world that would ever destroy the bond my dog and I have. I asked of her name, to which I was given, "Shelby." Shelby. By which the shells shall lead you home. Shelby. The very sound rang through my ears and pumped through my heart. Shelby: the most inseparable bond anyone could ever imagine.
