Quinn - A Petfinder Happy Tail
Quinn - posted 08/10/2012
From Meghan of San Marcos, CA
Quinn was originally named Furtado and she was sitting at the Rancho Coastal Humane Society. My boyfriend and I had been looking for a dog, but were not sure what in particular we wanted. We saw that the Humane Society was having a fifteen dollar adoption deal for all pets. We were so excited to go see what they had for us. We had looked at Petfinder to get an idea of what we wanted but still were not sure. I saw Quinn's picture but I do not know how we passed over her. As we got to the shelter, we were a bit overwhelmed by how many dogs were there. We had a pen and paper, writing down names and kennel numbers of dogs we were interested in. We both passed by Quinn a few times; she was depressed, just lying in her kennel, not really moving. I do not know what drew me to her, but as we were going in to look at another dog I stopped. She just looked so sad, lying there. When I went up to the gates and stuck my hand up to it, she looked at me from where she was and licked my hand lightly. Quinn stuck her paw into my fingers through the bars and that was it. My heart was stolen from that moment. We took her out to meet her, and an hour later she was coming home with us. I never thought I would come home with a Pit Bull, but it has turned out to be the best fifteen dollar decision I have ever made. She is the kindest, most loving, happy dog you could ever meet. For a breed that gets a bad reputation, she is the poster child for changing people's stigmas. I can't imagine not having her in my life now.
