Quincy (Pixie) - A Petfinder Happy Tail

On July 27th, 2011 my beautiful pure bred Saint Bernard, Fletcher (4 yrs young) died suddenly in my arms of a brain aneurysm. I was going thru a terrible divorce at the time and Fletcher gave me reason to wake up every day. I couldnt understand why he would be taken from me at such a horrific time in my life. I struggled thru the next couple months barely wanting to live. My days were filled with tears & heartache. Friends & Family were beside themselves & would periodically suggest I look at Petfinder's website & possibly adopt. Well, my heart wasnt ready for what seemed to be an eternity. I knew that no other could ever take Fletcher's place. One night thru the tears running down my face, I found Petfinder's website and I spotted a beautiful Saint Bernard that was up for adoption. The foster mom described him to be the perfect dog. Getting along with all... cats, dogs, kids, men, women etc.... I could not imagine a dog being so perfect. I thought there had to be a catch.

Within the next week my Mom, sister and I were on our way to meet "Pixie" the Saint Bernard. I was so nervous..When we arrived at the farm in Gallatin where he was being fostered, he came out trotting just like a horse and greeted us with open paws !! :-)

I dropped to my knees and held him and cried my eyes out. I knew God had sent him to me. We went through the adoption process and the foster mom brought "Pixie" to me on Thanksgiving Day. He is 190 pounds of pure beauty and the "perfect dog". A day doesn't go by that I don't thank God for blessing me with him. I couldn't see calling a huge Saint Bernard "Pixie". I gracefully changed his name to Quincy, keeping it as close to his original name as possible. Quincy and I are best friends and he is at my side every minute of the day. We have been involved in 2 dog shows already and he won First Place.... :-) Everybody loves Quincy. All the children in the neighborhood run up to pet and love him. I am so thankful for Petfinder and Quincy and so very blessed with my perfect boy.
