My family and I suffered a terrible loss on February 18, 2011. Our handsome rescued beagle boy, Buddy, our best friend, who was 13 years 3 months old became suddenly ill during the morning of Friday, February 18, 2011. After the surgeon from our local emergency clinic consulted with Buddy's veterinarian we went ahead with exploratory surgery to see if there was something that could be done to return Buddy to a condition where he would once again enjoy the life to which he was accustomed. But after examination during the exploratory surgery it was found that was not an option. The very difficult and painful decision to let our Buddy remain in eternal sleep was made by his family. Buddy will remain in our hearts and memories forever.

When we went to pick up Buddy's ashes on February 27, 2011 a feeling came over me. Buddy can never be replaced. The loss we all felt was large without Buddy in our home.

I decided with tears in my eyes to look at Through those tears I found a picture of a baby beagle boy at Tall Tails Beagle Rescue in Freeport, Maine. I made a call to the rescue on Monday, February 28, 2011 and we picked up our little beagle boy, Baxter, on March 5, 2011. Baxter was born on January 1, 2011. His mother, Lois, was enroute from Paris, Kentucky to Tall Tails Beagle in Maine. Somewhere between PA, NY and CT Lois gave birth to 6 pups, 3 girls and 3 boys. Our lucky day.

One last thing I'd like to add. Chris from Tall Tails Beagle Rescue gave us the picture that was posted. The date stamp of the picture was February 18, 2011, the day our Buddy went to Rainbow Bridge.
