Our Featured Pet...

"B-Boy" is a 2 year old neutered male Doxie/Min Pin mix. "B-boy" was born with congenital hair loss. He has been examined by a vet, and will need some special attention from his adoptive family to insure that he is protected from sunburn and eye problems. He has a friendly, outgoing personality, and gets along well with other dogs. B-Boy has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He would make a unique family companion, perfect for that "ugly dog" contest. PLeas check out his profile in our adoptable pets section! .

News

In an effort to improve public safety and reduce the number of stray Pit Bull type dogs in the county, San Bernardino Animal Care and Control has passed a new ordinance. The ordinance took effect August 13, 2010. Chapter 13 has been added to the county code to require the owners of Pit Bull and Pit Bull type dogs over the age of 4 months to have their dogs spayed or neutered (sterilized). This new law applies to residents living in the un-incorporated areas of San Bernardino county. Pit Bulls or Pit Bull mixes which meet the criteria under the County's new ordinance will not be returned to the owner unless they have been spayed or neutered. As an alternative, the owner may be issued an administrative citation. For more information, or to recieve low cost spay/neuter voucher information, please contact 1-800-472-5609. The Town of Yucca Valley, and the City of 29 Palms, do not have a manditory spay/neuter law in place at this time. However, all animals adopted from the Yucca Valley Animal Shelter are spayed or neutered (regardless of breed or type) prior to placement into a new home. The Town of Yucca Valley will be hosting the last of it's annual low cost vaccination clinics on Thursday, October 21st, from 4-6 PM at the Yucca Valley Community Center in Yucca Valley. For more information, including prices and licensing information please contact 760-365-1807.
