WISHBONE ANIMAL RESCUE, Inc. is a no-kill, non-profit organization striving to make a difference in the pet overpopulation problem existing in our community and preventing the unnecessary destruction of cats and dogs due to this problem. We work every day to put an end to the neglect, abuse and abandonment of so many unwanted animals.
We are dedicated to taking homeless animals off the streets and finding permanent homes where they'll be treasured members of the family. Our purpose is the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of these animals having all necessary testing, vaccinations and medical care. The cost of spay or neuter is included in our adoption fee .
Our rescue organization is an all-volunteer organization and we rely solely on private donations from caring, compassionate, generous people, small grants and fundraising events to support our efforts.
Won't you please help us protect those who cannot protect themselves? We are ALWAYS in need of cat & dog food, litter, bedding, cleaning supplies and there are ALWAYS vet bills to be paid!
ALL donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the care and treatment of the animals in our charge. Furthermore, receipts will be issued for ALL donations to Wishbone Animal Rescue, Inc. for tax purposes.

Adopting a friend
Please consider opening up your heart and your home to a rescued pet! We have many adorable, affectionate animals looking for permanent homes. If your are interested in one or more of our animals, a W.A.R. representative will sit down with you and discuss the type of pet you are looking for and the type of home that will be provided. There is an application and a contract that must be filled out and signed, as well as an adoption fee to be paid as part of the process for adoption through Wishbone Animal Rescue, Inc.
Come Visit Us!
Although Wishbone Animal Rescue, Inc. does not currently have an animal shelter- we do have cats and kittens on display 7 days a week at the Petco store on Treeline and Alico Roads in the "Gulfcoast Plaza"-stop by and see them anytime. The rest of the animals in our care are living in loving, nuturing, foster homes. Generally, we show off our cats and dogs, kittens and puppies, on Saturdays and Sundays (11:00am to 5:00pm) at two Petco locations. Both stores are in Fort Myers-the first is on Cleveland Avenue (13741 South Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, Florida...239-466-3737 in the Target Plaza) the second Petco location is in the Gulf Coast Plaza just past the intersection of Treeline and Alico Road.( 239- 432-2869) We'd love to see you there!
