Santa is coming to Animal Services
Saturday, Dec.5,2009 from 11- 4:30pm
And
Saturday, Dec.12,2009 from 12 – 4pm
Santa will be available to sit with your family and your pet for a picture! We ask that your pet be comfortably restrained to prevent any unfavorable encounters.
Photos with Santa are $10.00 and you will receive a lovely digitally reproduced photo in a lovely Christmas background. The cost of photos includes a treat for your pet and candy canes for you and the kids. All proceeds will go to our Dog Adoption and Education Programs.
We will also have our 2010 Animal Services Dog Adoption Calendar for sale. This is a beautiful, calendar showing some of our wonderful adoption dogs.
The cost is $10.00 with all proceeds will go to our Dog Adoption and Education Programs.

Seventy-three grants will be awarded for a total of $100,000 to eligible Petfinder.com members. Final prizes will go to the eligible Petfinder.com organization with the highest accumulative votes for the duration of the challenge.
Adoption fees start at $166.98 and include:
Mandatory spaying/neutering First license Check up by the veterinarian
First vaccinations (excluding rabies) Tattoo Microchip 6 weeks of free Pet Insurance
A small bag of dog food Literature on responsible pet ownership.
REMEMBER August is renewal time for those with last names that begin with "N" or "K".

Licenses can be purchased by calling the Animal Services Agency at 986-2155 or ;

Our aim is to reunite you with your pet so please make sure your information is up to date and we have your current phone number and address. Call 986-2155 to notify us of any changes.
* Regular license not neutered dog $60.00
* Reduced fee for neutered dogs $25.00
* 2 Year Licenses offer a 10% discount in the second year
If Animal Services Agency finds your lost dog and it is wearing a valid City of Winnipeg Dog License:
* Our staff will call the telephone numbers on record. If someone is at home at the time of our call, your dog will be returned FREE OF CHARGE.
* If we are unable to contact anyone at the time of pick-up, we will leave a message (if possible) and your dog will be brought to the safety of our Animal Services Agency facility at 1057 Logan Avenue. You may claim your dog FREE OF CHARGE by close of the next business day.
* Your dog is entitled to one “Free Ride” per license year in the event it is unfortunately lost and picked-up by our Agency.
* Please remember, if your dog is lost, call us at 311 to check if your dog is here and to leave a lost report in case we find your pet.
A valid license offers you substantial savings. “Free Ride”means instant savings of $70.00 or more.
Where does the money I pay you for my dog license go?
100% of dog license fees stay with the Animal Services Agency to help offset the Agency costs.
Your license fee allows Animal Services Agency to:
* feed and shelter your dog if it becomes lost until it can be re-united with you
* transport lost dogs that require emergency care to a veterinarian
* educate the public about responsible pet ownership
* return lost dogs to their owners
* reduces funding from taxes for the above and other animal related services designed to protect the public’s health and safety
* operate a Dog Adoption Program

WE HAVE BEDS!!!!!
Thanks to a very generous donation we now have 37 beds for all our kennels. The dogs and puppies can hardly wait for their new beds. These are the pictures of the dogs in their new beds. This was Jersey one of our dogs that has found a new home.
The fleeces have arrived. Yes, thanks to a most generous donation 20 new fleeces arrived to keep our dogs and puppies nice a warms and cuddly and hopefully remind them a bit of home!!!!! Thank you for your most generous donation they will be put to good use!!
