Who We Are

WE ARE A 501(c)(3) NON PROFIT CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION: A husband and wife team who take in unwanted labs into their home, giving them a safe place to stay until a permanent home can be found. There are no chains, ropes, pens, cages or pet lockers, just an outdoor area designed with pets in mind. They enjoy dog houses, beds, carpet, shade, toys, food, water and of course the thing labs "crave most"... LOVE.

In the winter months the outdoor pet area is winterized for their comfort when they are not in our home. Whether their stay here is long or short, each lab is given the best possible care, love and attention that they need and deserve. Our team is devoted to making sure that each lab has the necessary food, love, medical attention, spay/neuter, vaccines and anything else needed to increase their adoptability and quality of life so they can have a "Second Chance" at life in a loving home that is so deserved. **"PLEASE SPAY/NEUTER YOUR PET"!**

**DONATION FEES:** All funds donated to the rescue are used for the basic needs of our dogs. As you can imagine, cost for spay/neutering, or other health care needs, supplies, food, etc. can be a lot depending on the number of dogs we serve. All dogs are either spayed/neutered or when adopting young puppies it will be your responsibility to see that your dog is spay/neutered by age 6 month.

**WHY LABS??** The versatile Labrador Retriever is an Excellent choice for the responsible first-time dog owner or a wonderful choice in addition to your already existing canine member. In fact, the lab may spoil you for other breeds. A true lab is sensitive, kind, attentive, loving, eager to please, faithful, happy, friendly, adaptable, intelligent and optimistic. They thrive on love and enjoy life most if they are given something interesting to do. Ever gentle and dignified, the Labrador Retriever makes the perfect pet. They have a loving spirit that never seems to end. Whether it be a family dog or a hunting dog, there is no way you can go wrong with a lab..

**OUR MISSION:**Our mission is to take in as many unwanted/owner surrender labs that we can and give them a temporary loving home until we can secure them a forever loving home. Simply stated, our mission is to receive any lab that must be surrendered and find them their permanent loving home. As an added bonus, we have the pleasure of seeing the pure pleasure of families after they have had the opportunity to experience the gratitude that an adopted pet brings to them.

**OUR GOAL** Our goal is to make sure that a lab owner who must relinquish their dog for what ever reason, can have a safe, secure home to bring their pet to and know that a home will be found where the lab can be loved and cared for.

**DONATIONS, DONATIONS:** Monetary donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. They can be mailed to SECOND CHANCE LAB RESCUE 610 S. 16th. Avenue Yakima, WA. 98902** OR CONVENIENTLY USE OUR PAY PAL FOR YOUR DONATION

**WHY SECOND CHANCE??** **"QUALITY NOT QUANTITY"** NOT A SHELTER BUT A LAB RESCUE. We will love, nurture and take care of your lab just like one of our own. Being in city limits allows us to have 3 dogs or less at one time. This gives us the chance to give each dog the one on one love, attention and socialization that they need and NO over crowding like most shelters. Be assured that at Second Chance we don't send our labs to foster homes, they stay right here at our home and are socialized and loved right along with our labs.. We find that giving them one on one love and attention makes the transition into their new home with their new family alot easier on the dog and the new owner.

**WHO IS CHANCE??** Chance was my inspiration for starting Second Chance Lab Rescue. He has recently passed on and it is up to me to keep his legacy alive. He was our 9-year-old black lab mix that we adopted from the local humane society when he was only 3 months old. He adapted to our family immediately and has been a great part of our family ever since. We loved him dearly and he will be missed immensely. "Rest In Peace" my sweet boy, you gave us the best 9 years of your life. Forever in my heart, "love you Chance", Mom
