The Wadena County Humane Society is a rescue and adoption point for dogs and cats of all ages. Some lost their home through the death of their best friend, some were not allowed in a rental unit with their owner, some needed to be surrendered due to life changing events, others had been abandoned or abused. Most of the animals would be an excellent companion with the right home, training, and care. When you are looking for your new companion come visit the Wadena County Humane Society. Stop in and see the many companions looking for the right home. They are so loveable and affectionate, they are just waiting to share their love and affection with you.
The Wadena County Humane Society is not a quick stop pet shop, we want you to take your time in deciding and involve the whole family. There is an adoption process to assist in matching the animal with the right home, for both the pet and owner. The Humane Society in Wadena is presently full of adult cats, dogs, kittens and puppies of all ages and colors. Each animal has been examined and medicated for any internal or external parasites and started with immunizations. Additionally, all cats available for adoption have been tested negative for Feline Leukemia. Your adoption contract will require you to neuter or spay the animal if it has not already been done prior to adoption. There are animals that have already been neutered or spayed that are available for adoption as well.
If you have a medical problem with an animal, you must call a veterinarian as the shelter is not a medical facility, nor is it a euthanasia point. Please consult your veterinarian for assistance with medical needs for your pet. If your call is to report suspected abuse, abandonment or neglect, please call the humane society for your county or consult your local law enforcement officials for your city or county.
