(Next to a picture of a Chocolate Siamese cat) The top 10 rescues with the most votes each win $10,000. You can vote once every day up to Oct 5th. The top eleven are currently separated by just a few votes, and we are one of them!
The Lamar County Humane Association is a group of volunteers that help the animals of Lamar County by holding adoptathons, fostering pets, educating the public on animal issues and much more.
If you would like to make a donation you can send it to the address below. We have also set up an emergency fund. If you would like to donate to that special cause, just write Emergency Fund on the memo at the bottom of your check. This can be sent to the same address. Thank You.
Our adoption fee for Foster pets is around $55.00-$75 for dogs and $45 for cats. This includes spay/neuter and rabies shot (if 6 months or older), If they are younger than 6 months, you will receive a spay/neuter voucher to be used when the pet is old enough for the procedure.
Our adoption fee for Petco pets is usually $55 to $75 for dogs and $45 for cats. This includes spay/neuter and rabies shot, plus immunizations and de-fleaing. Heartworm testing is also included for adult dogs.
LCHA Office- The Lamar County Humane Association has a meeting room at 310 Clement Road. Due to being an all volunteer organization, the LCHA office/meeting room is open Mon-Wed from 10am to 4pm only.The LCHA does not have its own facility to house animals, but uses foster homes for adoptable animals whose lives need saving.
Paris Animal Shelter - We are NOT the Paris Animal Shelter. Please do NOT call the City Shelter for information on the animals listed on our website unless told specifically to do so..
Directions - Our meeting room ONLY is located next to the Fairgrounds, at 310 Clement Road. Off N. Main Street (on one end) and Loop 286 (next to the City Pool, on the other).
If you or someone you know needs financial assistance in spaying or neutering a pet, applications are available at the Paris Animal Shelter or you can call LCHA at (903) 784-6774 and leave a message with your mailing address.
Vouchers are distributed at the discretion of LCHA and are redeemable at many area vets. This program is currently available to those meeting low income guidelines and/or receiving government assistance. LCHA does not have an actual spay/neuter clinic.
