This group photo of some of the dogs at TVCDR was taken on a slightly foggy morning. It was taken at Cedar Creek Farm in Georgetown, TN where the rescue is housed.
Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a rescued dog to sleep in comfort, please click here.
We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit, rescue organization, based in Georgetown, Tennessee. Contributions are tax deductible. We focus on rescuing stray, abandoned, and unwanted Australian Cattle Dogs. We primarily rescue from municipal and county shelters in Tennessee, and bordering states. Most of these dogs were picked up as strays; some were surrendered to shelters by their former owners; all were at risk of being euthanized before coming to us. We do not operate a shelter. The dogs in our rescue are in foster homes where they interact with humans and other dogs. By using a foster home environment we are able to evaluate these dogs for temperament, and provide basic obedience and crate training.
Our standard adoption fee is $175.00. This includes spay/neuter, rabies vaccination, dhlpp vaccination, Bordatella vaccination, heartworm test and treatment/preventative, fecal with worming as needed.
We sometimes have rescue dogs available that have been started in herding. Adoption fee for these dogs is dependent on the level of training they have received. If you are interested in a started dog for trial or farm work e-mail or call for availability and fee information.
Owning a dog is a major responsibility, not to be taken lightly. In an effort to make the best possible match between you and a dog, we will request that you complete a comprehensive adoption application, and be prepared to spend some time discussing it before an adoption. Also, please be aware that we reserve the right to conduct a home visit prior to approving any applicant.
Our goal is to provide the best possible home for each dog, so that they will never have to come back to rescue. We will place the dog with the person that is the best match.
Our office is open Wednesdays from 5 pm to 9 pm, Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday from 12 pm to 5 pm. Available animals may be visited by appointment and only after a potential adopter has been pre-approved.
