Our Featured Pet...
Chance was about 6 months old when he came into Danielle's care as her foster, and had had a very rough start to life. Chance was born with a birth defect in his spinal area. He also received injuries from being dropped repetitively by a small child and therefore Chance was in rough shape. Chance had extreme difficulty in moving and had to be carried from place to place. However his extreme desire to be a normal puppy and his zest for life made it evident that Chance wanted a second chance at life. Danielle's level of commitment to Chance was one of love and dedication in giving Chance the opportunity to be the puppy that he so badly wanted to be. Chance went through acupuncture, swim therapy, multiple fittings for his wheels, and several surgeries. He came through everything with flying colors and a wagging tail, and was slowly but surely improving. Unfortunately, despite his desire to live life to its fullest, Chance had a major setback in late July and crossed the bridge late one evening. The dedication by everyone involved in giving Chance the sort of life he deserved to have was one of love. To date, Chance's medical bills are in excess of $9,000; Danielle and the staff at BFFE and Fallston Animal Rescue Movement appreciate any donations and support.
Our Mission
The FARM was begun by Greg and Barbara Bertling to find homes for some of the wonderful, loving pets abandoned, lost or given up and scheduled for euthanasia at area shelters. Thus, FARM means the difference between life and death for the pets rescued.
We provide food, shelter, medical care, behavioral evaluation and affection. We take great care to find responsible, loving, permanent homes for each pet we save.
The FARM has rescued and placed over 8,000 dogs and cats since its beginning in October, 2000.
Cat Adoptions range from $125.00 (males) to $150.00 (females) which includes basic vaccinations, spay or neuter, test for Feline Leukemia and FIV (cat and kittens over 6-months old), worming, and treatment with Frontline/ Advantage Flea preventative.
Click for A Cat Application Dog Adoptions range from $150.00 to $400.00 which includes vaccinations, spay or neuter, Heartworm Test/Preventative, worming and treatment with Frontline Flea preventative.
Thank you for considering a rescued dog or cat for your newest family member!
