The Animal Haven, Inc. is a non-profit, no-kill shelter for cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens! For over 60 years we have specialized in matching families with the right animal for their home.

Adopting a Friend

All dogs have been vaccinated for distemper and rabies, tested for heartworm and on monthly preventative, and they are spayed/neutered if over 6 months old. All cats have been vaccinated for distemper and rabies, tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS and they are spayed/neutered if over 6 months old. Those animals who are under 6 months and have not yet been altered, will be released only under a strictly enforced spay/neuter contract.

Adoption Fees

Our fees for adopting an animal from The Animal Haven are as follows:
$175 for puppies
$75 for cats and dogs over 7 years of age or any animal that has been at the shelter for over a year
$75 for cats or kittens, $125 for dogs 1-7 years

Please keep in mind that our adoption fees include spaying/neutering, and all vaccinations listed above. If most pet owners were to take care of these medical needs for their pets on their own they could end up spending a lot more!

As a general reminder, please research any breeds you may be interested in adopting. It's amazing how many purebreds wind up homeless because people don't do their research and just go on impulse or cuteness. Most breeds have certain traits which may make them better or worse for certain homes and lifestyles, even though every animal is an individual just like humans. This could save you and your family heartbreak and help to reduce the over-population in animal shelters.

  • Thurs 5:00 - 7:00 pm
  • Sat. 12:00 - 5:00 pm
  • Sun. 12:00 - 3:00 pm

    • CLOSED on Monday and the first Wednesday of each month

    Please plan to arrive AT LEAST one hour prior to closing because it takes time for us to help you find the right match!
