HOOCH is a male American Bulldog mix, about 4 years old. He is a big, friendly guy who is a favorite among many of the volunteers. He always has a "smile" for everyone and "wags" from head to toe! We recommend no toddlers, and that Hooch be the only pet in the home. A fenced yard and breed knowledge would be ideal. Hooch does appear to have some skin problems, most likely due to allergies. A good quality consistent diet of good food and medicated baths will work wonders. Hooch loves getting baths - in the tub and also (when the weather is warm) outside with the hose. He loves all the extra TLC and attention - not to mention how good he feels after! :) He would need someone who will keep on top of this and make sure he gets exactly what he needs.
Hooch would be forever THANKFUL for a new "leash on life". What greater joy would there be than for him to be able to share a THANKSGIVING dinner with his new family in the warmth and comfort of his new home. His new family would also be forever THANKFUL for such a great new companion to share their lives and home with. Hooch will be sure to find a way to bring a smile to their faces each and every day.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Hooch and his friends at the Taunton Shelter.
"Of all things we have to be thankful for, some of the dearest are the children and animals in our lives. For there is no greater blessing than to be able to share our hearts and homes with those we love. In return, they bring us joy, they teach us to wonder anew at life, and they enrich each day through the wonderful bond we share." (American Humane Association)

HAPPY TAILS! :) ... Approximately 101 dogs were adopted from January through October 2009 and became someone's new "best friend". Of these 101, (8) were seniors/special needs and we also adopted (3) pairs of dogs to the same home - thus allowing them to remain together! :) A very special THANK YOU to those families who opened their homes and hearts to our seniors and special needs dogs! {In 2008, we adopted a total of 172 dogs!}
Please take a moment and read "Charlotte's Story"... An inspiration to all - Miss Charlotte was a happy and brave girl until the very end. She touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a wonderful example of the rewards of adopting senior pets and/or pets who are ill. It is with great sadness, that Miss Charlotte went to Rainbow Bridge the morning of 5/2/05.
Please also take a moment to read about our sweet Cocoa, who sadly also went to Rainbow Bridge on 7/7/07. Cocoa was also an inspiration to all and loved by all who knew him ....
