MELANIE, The May Dog of The Month

MELANIE is a female Am Staff, about 2 years old. Melanie is such a cute gal! She is happy, friendly, and affectionate. She seems to like everyone, and has a tail wag and "smile" for all. She is full of energy from her head to her toes and would be best suited for an active person/family who will include her in lots of activities. A fenced yard would be ideal. We recommend breed knowledge. Melanie does not like cats and must go to a home with no cats. She may be happiest as the only pet in the home. Melanie LOVES belly rubs and walks well on the leash. With just a little training and exercise, you will have a GREAT new best friend! She learns quickly and is eager to please.

Melanie had so much fun posing with one of her favorite friends at the shelter. She "smiled" when we dressed her up in her spring outfit - knowing that she was the cutest "flower" of the bunch! She had all of us laughing while we were doing her photos. What more could you ask for - than a "Melanie Bouquet" to make your life complete and bring a "Ray of Sunshine" to each and every day...

HAPPY SPRING and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY from Melanie and all her friends at the Shelter.

"I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source." (Doris Day)

Cat of the Month

Cat of the Month at Taunton Animal Shelter in Massachusetts

RUBY, The May Cat of The Month

My name is Ruby, and I am a senior female DSH. My owner passed suddenly, leaving me homeless. Family members could not take me in, so they brought me to the shelter. I was well loved by my owner. I was strictly an indoor cat. On warm days though, she would bring out my harness and we would go for a walk in the yard. My life was sweet, then it turned upside down. I miss the safety and comfort of home, familiar things, my sleeping places. To help me through my sadness, I am in a foster home, where I love to cuddle and be held. It is like going back home again. I would love a person(s) of my own again. I am not at the shelter, if you would like to meet me please call the shelter at 508 822 1463. I have a very special adoption fee.

"It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within. We are Rescue." (Kathie Sullivan-Parkes)
"Save them one at a time, love them all, mourn for those we cannot save, and thank doG that we have been given this special gift of love for all those creatures we hold dear to our hearts" (Terry Murphy)
"Rescue dogs aren't broken, they've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human, we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write, the ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Don't pity a rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness by your side."

Would you like to feel loved and appreciated? Are you unable to adopt a pet, but would like to spend time with them? Would you like to get some exercise in the great outdoors?
