PETS OF THE MONTH

Dog of the Month

Dog of the Month at Taunton Animal Shelter in Massachusetts

CHUCKIE, The August Dog of The Month

CHUCKIE is a male Pomeranian, about 9 years old. Although he is a senior in "years" - he has the energy and enthusiasm of a pup! What a cute and sweet guy he is - with a "smile" that will just "make your day"! He seems to like everyone and loves to go for walks or run around the play yard. He would be a good companion for a person of any age. We were told that Chuckie does not do well with young children or other dogs. Therefore, we recommend a home with older children/adults and that Chuckie be the only pet in the home. Chuckie was recently groomed and our groomer fell in love with him! She said he not only rode well in the car, but was great during grooming and also got along with her other dogs!

With his new "summer haircut" and outfit, Chuckie was happy enjoying his photo shoot on a beautiful summer day with one of his friends at the shelter. His "smile" was like a ray of sunshine, and he did a little "dance" after the photos when he went for a walk. Chuckie felt like he and his friend were on vacation and the only thing that could make him happier would be if he could enjoy the rest of the summer with a new family and in a new home - where every day would be sunny and bright and warm with love!

"Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole." (Roger Caras)

FAMILY TIES, The August Cats of The Month

We are called FAMILY TIES, and are female DSH/DLH. We were rescued with our mom, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Ar first we were unsure about feeling safe, now we are doing so much better. We like attention and will roll on our backs to greet you, and we found our purrs too! We are a close family group and need to go home in pairs. We have been together through thick and thin! We are short haired, except for one of our sisters who is long haired. We are 3 months in age. We have a special adoption fee as pairs. Do you have a home for us? Please come soon.

"It is our gift to see beyond the dirt, terror, sadness and defeat and find the true soul that lies within. We are Rescue." (Kathie Sullivan-Parkes)
"Save them one at a time, love them all, mourn for those we cannot save, and thank doG that we have been given this special gift of love for all those creatures we hold dear to our hearts" (Terry Murphy)
"Rescue dogs aren't broken, they've simply experienced more life than other dogs. If they were human, we would call them wise. They would be the ones with tales to tell and stories to write, the ones dealt a bad hand who responded with courage. Don't pity a rescue dog. Adopt one. And be proud to have their greatness by your side."

Would you like to feel loved and appreciated? Are you unable to adopt a pet, but would like to spend time with them? Would you like to get some exercise in the great outdoors? Are you interested in the veternarian/grooming/obediance training fields? Do you love animals? Please call the shelter/come on down and ask about volunteering!
