Adopting a Friend Adoption fees for dogs ($60) and cats ($50) includes rabies vaccination, that is given at the time the animal is spayed or neutered as required by state law. Once the animal is adopted, we take them to the vet for the spay/neuter and the Adopter will pick them up from the Vet. Dogs are given an 8-in-one shot and cats are given the 3-in-one shot. All animals are dewormed.

Public health, safety and animal protection are our goals. Our department enforces laws which protect both people and animals throughout Tangipahoa Parish. We encourage responsible, humane animal treatment through education as well as enforcement.
Tangipahoa Parish Animal Shelter is a governmental agency under the Tangipahoa Parish Government. We protect animals and people throughout Tangipahoa Parish by enforcing city, parish & state laws. Established in 1997, our department takes in between 6,000 and 7,000 animals per year - animals which are lost, unwanted, or dangerous. |

Open to the public from 12:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Open Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. for adoptions only. Closed Holidays and Sundays.
Directions to Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control Shelter
Conveniently located at 15487 Club Deluxe Road near the intersection of I-55 and I-12. From I-12, take the Hammond Mall exit south. Turn right at the first light past the Petro Truck Stop. From I-55, take the Hammond exit south to Morrison Blvd to Club Deluxe Road. Follow the green signs on both ends of Club Deluxe. Our shelter is located behind the South Tangipahoa Parish Health Unit. |
