Tangi Humane Society

Tangi Humane Society is separate and apart from the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Control Shelter which is completely funded by the parish.

The Tangi Humane Society is not affiliated with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) which is headquartered in Washington, D.C.

The Tangi Humane Society is very much like that of many, many small humane societies and animal rescue groups across the United States. It is a group of concerned individuals that have come together to try to better our community. It is a group of individuals that love animals and know the special bond that comes in loving and caring for an animal. A group that is concerned for the well being of animals in our community and their right to live in a world where love and compassion is what fills their lives rather than a world of cruelty and neglect. A group that gives refuge to abused and neglected animals until a good home can be found for them.

All animals accepted into our shelter are first quarantined, and receive immediate veterinary care.
