Who We AreTexas Alaskan Malamute Rescue Association is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit assistance, adoption, and education organization for the Alaskan Malamute and malamute owners. We are a state affiliate and charter member of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League, the national 501(c)(3) breed assistance organization sanctioned by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America.
Our organization is dedicated to the welfare of all Alaskan Malamutes. We are an all volunteer network of people who know and love this breed. Our goal is to ensure that any Alaskan Malamute which becomes homeless or endangered can find a good home.
Help Needed Through Volunteering, Donations, or Gift Shopping! If you would like to help Alaskan Malamutes, please contact us. You may choose to foster or sponsor dogs, help with training or socialization, offer transport, help with home visits, answer phones or screen ads, help at event booths, etc. Every effort is appreciated, regardless of size, and helps us save Malamutes. And it is often as simple as donating a little of your time!
For those with generous hearts, but feel they have little extra time to spare, financial and gift donations are always welcome. Your donations help us cover various medical costs, rehabilitation fees, shelter release or emergency boarding fees, general upkeep and other rescue or assistance related costs.
Donations may be made through PayPal using the "Donation Bone" button below, through gift purchases at CafePress, or through online purchases at the iGive Shopping Mall. More donation, dog sponosrship, and other gift giving information is found at our main website: TAMR Donations (All proceeds from your donations, Cafepress and iGive purchases, will directly benefit our rescued dogs!)

Adopting a Malamute Friend and CompanionYou are welcome to contact TAMR before you decide whether to adopt or foster. You are never obligated to adopt a dog from us and we encourage all applicants to visit our Malamutes before making their final decision. However, we do require that our pre-adoption and foster application is completed and returned to us before you schedule any visit. All visits to meet our dogs are by appointment, so that someone is available to introduce you to the dogs, help you with your selection, and talk to you about the breed.
About our Adoptive Dogs:
ALL our dogs are spayed or neutered. There are no exceptions.
Our dogs are current on vaccinations and heartworm preventative.
Dogs are treated for any known health problems prior to adoption.
Dogs are temperament evaluated for their best home suitability.
Dogs are also microchipped for safety and identification.
About our Adoption Process:
You must be an adult of at least 18 years old and "head of household" to apply for adoption.
Children currently living in the home must be 4 years of age or older.
We require all potential adopters to complete our pre-adoption application.
A rescue volunteer will contact you after we receive your completed application.
We will check veterinary references on all current pets.
We visit your home by appointment to meet family members, other pets, and to evaluate home safety conditions.
If your application is approved, you may adopt a dog suitable to your home and family.
A minimum adoption fee of $200 is due at the time of adoption.
Some dogs and/or adoptions have additional fees or adoption requirements.
If you see a Malamute on our adoption pages that interests you, please let us know. We can provide more information and often additional pictures on that dog, as well as other information on rescue or Alaskan Malamutes. A printable application form and other information or resources are available online at the publications page on our main TAMR website. www.texalmal.org
Please Note: We intend our adoptions to be permanent placements and only adopt dogs into homes for which they are best suited. Not all dogs are available to every adopter and TAMR reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.
