The Humane Society of Swift County has been added to the list of charities or recipients of donations for GiveBackAmerica.org. Anyone doing online shopping can use this website, and a portion of the dollars you spend will go to our Humane Society if you so choose. FUNDRAISING: "Love At First Sight" a watercolor painting by Cynthia Jones of Wildflower Gallery. These limited-edition prints are available for a donation of $50 each. Who We Are
The HSSC was started in April of 2001. We are a non-profit organization that's operated by volunteers. We do not have an animal shelter. Our pets stay in foster homes until permanent homes can be found.
Our Board of Directors consists of the following: Robin Finke, Judy Overlie, Scott Mattison, Jackie Johnson, Tyson Cluever and Wendy Munsterman. Robin Finke is chair of the Board. Officers are: President- Marcia Neely, Secretary-Judy Overlie, Vice President/Treasurer- Robin Finke.

The mission of the HSSC is to prevent cruelty to animals in Swift County through:
Providing education on humane treatment/care of animals;
Coordinating shelter services for abandoned/lost animals;
Serving as a central communication point for abandoned/lost animal;
Promoting spay/neuter programs;
Promoting animal protection laws and ordinances.

All pets will be spayed/neutered before going to their new home, depending on age/size. Dogs are generally $100 and up and have been heartworm tested, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. Puppies are $50 and up (1st vacc. and de-worming), if too young to spay/neuter, then must be done at 6 months of age.
Cats are $50 and have been FeLv tested, vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. Kittens are $35 (1st vaccination and de-worming), if too young to spay/neuter, it must be done at 6 months of age.
