We have some really great kittens and cats up for adoption and this is your chance to meet them all in person. Commack Petco is located on Jericho Turnpike between Commack Rd and Sagtikos Parkway in Commack. We have some super T's that would make wonderful gifts for the holidays too. Your donation is tax deductible, so come on out and browse our shirts and cats. Something is sure to tickle your fancy.

Our Featured Pet...

My name is Sally. I was adopted a couple of months ago, but I am now in search of a home again....why?....because my person got a puppy and doesn't want ME anymore! She says it's too hard to take care of 2 pets. She said I am a great cat, but she really wants a dog more. So here I am, back in foster care and searching for someone who will give me a FOREVER home. I am a friendly, outgoing and very sweet girl. I love to be held and love to play. I will purr and make muffins for you and give you my undivided attention. I am great with children and would probably also get used to a dog. I am fine with one or maybe 2 other cats, but multiple cats may be an issue. for me since I get a bit overwhelmed with too many cats around. I am VERY affectionate and quite the talker and will greet you at the door like a dog. I am an all around super kitty girl! Won't you let me prove that to you? I am a 1-2 yr old spayed female, mostly white with some black patches, vaccinated, spayed and negative for felv/fiv.

In the meantime, please check out Our Adoptable Pets(click on the link above) for some really wonderful pets for adoption. See the "Cats in Action" by clicking on the camera icon! We have some great cats & kittens looking for a forever home and they are waiting for that purrfect someone to come for them and make their wishes come true. If there is a phone number listed in the ad description, please call that number since the person fostering the cats can answer all your questions. Or call us at 631-220-2253 or email us at AHomeAtLast@optonline.net for an application to adopt any of our precious rescues and to make an appointment with the foster homes to see our loving furkids.

Who We Are
A Home at Last Animal Adoption Network, Inc. is a very small (3 person), all volunteer, non-profit 501(C)3 organization dedicated to bettering the lives of homeless and feral cats. Through a program of trap/neuter/return, we hope to bring down the number of feral cats on Long Island. Feral and stray cats that are trapped and deemed adoptable, are placed in 2 nurturing foster homes, socialized, given needed medical attention and then placed in carefully screened adoptive homes. We also network with other rescue organizations and shelters to find homes and match perspective adopters with the animal best fitting what they are looking for.

The Rescued Cats Wish List

The animals have a wish list. Obviously their #1 wish is for a forever home where they will be loved and cherished. Aside from a permanent home, the immediate needs of the cats are most important. If you can donate any of these items, please call or email us today. We need.....Friskies canned cat food, Fancy Feast kitten canned food, any brand dry cat and/or kitten food, litter(scoopable), cat toys, cat beds, litterpans, cat carriers, large and small dog cages/crates. Thank you for all your continued support!

Adopting a friend

Since we are not a shelter, all our adoptable animals are in private foster homes. We do most of our adoptions through pictures on this website or various adoption events throughout the area. Appointments with individual foster homes to meet the animals before you adopt can be arranged. To adopt, you must fill out an adoption questionnaire. This can be done through email, or on the telephone. An adoption contract is to be signed at the time of adoption. All our animals are vet checked, vaccinated, tested and come with a certificate for a free spay/neuter (if not already done at the time of adoption). Each animal also comes with a free night stay at The CatSpa..the ultimate in cat boarding. To help us continue our work in rescuing cats and finding them homes, as well as our work with feral cat colonies, we ask for an adoption donation of $65. For adoptions: email AHomeatLast@optonline.net or call 631-220-2253

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Please help us help those with no voice and ensure that more lives can be saved. We are in desperate need of foster homes! If you are able to help us out by temporarily fostering even one cat or kitten, it would help more than we can say. The more foster homes we have, the more lives can be saved. If you have room in your heart and in your home, please contact us today. We also gratefully accept any and all monetary donations which go directly to cover medical costs such spay/neuters, medical care for our feral colonies and rescued cats and food, litter and toys for the cats in our care. If you are a handyperson wishing to donate your skills, we can always use cat houses and shelters for our feral colonies.
