These two girls were found wandering in the country and a kind samaritan pulled over, picked them up and contacted us. They have earned the name "The Reese Cup Pups."
Chocolate (we actually call her Fatty…she NEVER misses an opportunity to eat) is the outgoing girl. She has never met a stranger and loves to be petted and will try to crawl into your lap if you sit down. When she knows it’s feeding time she makes this funny sound and dances on her back legs. Chocolate is a great girl who will make a wonderful lifetime friend.
Peanut Butter (we call her Red) is the timid girl. She can be shy, but once you sit with her and let her sniff you she is ready to sit with you and give you kisses. Peanut Butter is very loyal and will make a great companion pet. She can be anywhere on the farm and when she is called she comes running and drops at your feet, rolling over for a belly rub. She is very submissive and even respects our cat. We've even seen her roll over in front of the cat. Red is also very smart and can open gates so we have to keep a lock on her pen.
Chocolate and Peanut Butter are about 1 year old. Both girls are typical beagles…they’ll run through the yard following those noses. Chocolate loves to chase anything that comes flying out of the grass…moths, grasshoppers…anything that moves. Both girls love to run and play together. They have been spayed, neutered, microchip, parasite and heart-worm free, and are up to date on all of their shots. Their adoption fees are $150 each. This also comes with 30 days pet health insurance.
Chocolate and Peanut Butter have had a few possible adoptions, but nothing has worked out for these girls yet. If you would like more information or to meet these amazing girls please email SouthernIndianaAnimalRescue@gmail.com

We are a non-profit 501c3.
Southern Indiana Animal Rescue, (S.I.R), is an all volunteer group of caring individuals dedicated to saving companion animals whose lives are in jeopardy. Since we do not have a shelter, all our pets live in volunteer's homes until their forever home is found. Animals are rescued from a variety of circumstances including stray, abandonment, owner surrenders, and kill shelters. Volunteers lovingly bring these animals into their home for temporary foster care where they receive full vetting including spay/neutering, microchipping, worming, flea, tick, and heartworm prevention; as well as rehabilitation, and socialization until they are adopted into their forever home. We also educate the public about pet overpopulation, and responsible and humane pet care.
Southern Indiana Animal Rescue strives to go "above and beyond" when caring for, socializing, and training our rescued pets. We are proud to say we care enough about our pets, that we welcome them into our homes as our own. PLEASE consider opening your home to a temporarily homeless pet! We can save so many more lives if we had more foster homes!!!!! Email: SouthernIndianaAnimalRescue@gmail.com for information on fostering!
Just like people, pets have unique preferences and personalities. We understand it is important to identify those qualities in order to match a rescued pet with the perfect home. We go the "extra mile", because we strongly feel these animals have suffered enough. Both you and they deserve their next home to be a "forever home!"
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES! We can save so many more animals from death if we can get more people to offer their home/apartment to short term foster puppies, dogs, cats or kittens. Foster animals have been adopted in as little as 3 days to as long as 6 months. The average stay at your house/apartment being 1 month or less. Please email dbs@insightbb.com for more information on being a foster home!
Fostering a needy animal is EXTREMELY rewarding because you know that without your help, that animal would more than likely be dead. In addition, we have need for EMERGENCY short term fostering which lasts anywhere from 1 night to 2 weeks. Thank you!
Adoption Process
Once you have found a pet who you are interested in, we will then ask you to download a copy of our adoption application. Once you cut and paste your answers, email us back and we get back with you within 24 hours or less. We are very prompt about returning emails and setting up a time to meet your potential pet!
Donations
All dollars received by Southern Indiana Animal Rescue (S.I.R.) cover the cost of actual expenses including spay, neuter, microchipping, worming, flea and tick control, and any other health conditions a pet may have upon coming into our rescue. To keep our expenses low, we have partnered with the Kentucky Humane Society’s SNIP (Spay/Neuter Incentive Program) clinic receiving Rescue Organization Rates. We also have rescue partnerships with 2 other veterinary clinics around the area to further reduce vetting costs. No one at S.I.R., receives a paycheck! You can be sure that 100% of your donation goes right back into direct pet rescue!
