Who We Are

Sheltered Hearts was created when we saw the need to help decrease the euthanasia rate of so many puppies, dogs, kittens and cats losing their lives each day because there is no home for them. Our goal is to save as many animals as possible as well as to educate the public on ways they can help decrease overpopulation. We would like to provide spay & neuter assistance for lower income families and other shelters. S.H.A.R.E is committed to improving the lives of all animals in the communities we serve, and to eliminate unnecessary euthanasia of the homeless and neglected.

Volunteering and Donations

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so your donation is tax-deductible. This donation helps with spay/neuter, vaccinations, treatment for heartworms, if necessary, and any other health issues from which the animal may be suffering when they come into our rescue.

It costs us well over $100 more than we take in in adoption fees to completely vet an animal. Many come to us sick or injured making donations more critical. We are not subsidized by the government so we depend on fundraisers and donations from caring people in our communityto save their lives .

Adopting a friend

The adoption process consists of the completion of an application with vet and personal references. A home visit will be requested. Some dogs are in foster homes and only approved adopters are invited to visit them prior to adoption. Our adoption fee is $150 for dogs, $100 for cats & $100 for pups that are not old enough to be spayed or neutered(under six months). We require pups to be spayed or neutered by six months old. All animals will be spayed/neutered , UTD on shots and microchipped.
