FOSTER HOMES and VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED!!!!! (see last section for details)
Who We Are and What We Do
Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue was established in 1997 in order to save shelter dogs that need a foster placement.
The reasons for fostering include:
Orphans too young for adoption
Nursing mothers
Mildly sick/injured dogs
Dogs that have been abused
Dogs that can not adjust to living in a shelter environment
Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue and a local shelter work together to place these dogs in temporary, loving foster homes. When you adopt from us, you are helping to save a shelter dog!!
Our Goals
To save shelter dogs in need and place them in good homes. To promote the placement of special need dogs with the help of adoption bags, grooming, socialization, and providing needed supplies.
To pair the right dog with the right human companion(s), enriching everyone's lives.
Our Mission
To develop trust and love with a dog that needs to be reminded that many humans can and will take good, loving care of it for the rest of its lives.
To then find loving homes for these previously abused, abandoned, sick, neglected and confused dogs.
To give the dog a solid re-start with behavior, health, and trust.
To spay/neuter our rescued dogs of age to stop the cycle of unwanted litters.

"Sheltered Paws Dog Rescue" Adoption Process
Some dogs are at the shelter and some are in a foster home. Once you identify the dog you are interested in adopting, please EMAIL or phone the contact person listed in the dog's notes.
For a shelter dog, the contact person will reply to your request with all information available. You will only have to complete the forms at the shelter for the adoption.
For a foster dog, click HERE to download an Adoption Form Questionnaire . Upon completion, email the application back to shelteredpaws@yahoo.com
After review, we will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come and visit with the dog in the foster home.
If the adoption is appropriate, you will be asked to sign an adoption contract.
Adoption Fee
A nominal adoption fee is charged for each dog. This fee includes a vet check, all shots, any necessary medical work and medication, spay/neuter (if possible and appropriate). All of our work is volunteer. WE MAKE NO PROFIT ON THESE ADOPTIONS. This fee does NOT include those additional things we supply while the pet is in our care e.g. pet supplies, food, toys, grooming, training, etc. (plus a heck of a lot of hugs!)
Our Gift to You
The reward of saving a dog's life and the reassurance that your new dog was well loved and provided for while we fostered him/her. The realization that you are now this dog's sole caretaker to love and care for the rest of its life, while receiving the unconditional love back that only it can give.

READY TO HELP? . . . . . BECOME A VOLUNTEER!
There are volunteer opportunities in socialization work with the dogs, transport, paperwork, computer work, legal, and much more.
