St. Francis Animal Rescue, Inc. (SFAR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding quality homes for injured, abused, & neglected, animals (primarily dogs and puppies). Although the focus of care will be for the animals of Houston County, Tennessee SFAR will still render assistance to animals of Montgomery County & surrounding areas on a case-by-case basis depending on the availability of resources. We were officially incorporated on March 24, 1999, although our President, Annamaria McCoy, has been rescuing animals for several years. Upon arrival each animal is heartworm tested, dewormed, brought up-to-date on shots (DHLPP) including rabies, and put on heartworm prevention. All of our animals will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption - no exceptions!
In order to ensure that each animal goes to the best possible environment suitable to his/her personality, all potential adopters must complete an adopion application which will be screened by our Adoption Coordinator. You will find the adoption application on our web site at http://www.StFrancisAnimalRescue.com. Once your application is approved, a visit will be scheduled. We do permit out of state adoptions; however, the adopter must travel to Tennessee to meet and pick up their new pet.
We do not ship SFAR pets.
SFAR is located near Clarksville, Tennessee near the Kentucky/Tennessee border, approximately 1 hour north of Nashville. As our main foster facility is also a private residence, it is not open to the general public. Specific directions will be provided upon submission and approval of an Adoption Application.
