Our Featured Pet...

***************************SHASTA AND TAFFY************************* Hi, my name is Taffy & I'm a 3 year old Buff (and incredibly handsome) Tabby. What I like most in the world is to be petted and loved on. I am the happiest when you are paying attention to me. I will even swat at you playfully when you stop rubbing me, cause I want you to keep me touching me for hours I love it so. I really like to be near my foster mom always, though I am not comfortable sitting in a lap or being held for long. I will lay on the floor or couch and let you rub my fur while I flex my front paws contently. I even like this better than playing. I really enjoy watching my sister kitty play with her toys though (see Shasta!). I am also a big talker and will let you know when I want attention. Then once I have it, I am a happy soul. Once you see my golden eyes and rub my beautiful, soft, fawn colored fur you will love me too. And at night I like to lie at the foot of the bed while my foster mom sleeps. I'm a sweet boy just waiting for my purrrrrrrrfect home to come along!!

Hi my name is Shasta and I am the prettiest orange tabby girl who has the markings of a little leopard. My foster mom calls me a gorgeous redhead!! I have a petite head and a muscular body and I make little chirping sounds when I want to play or need attention. I like to talk and tell you what I'm thinking about a lot, but I make a great listener too! I am as sweet and gentle as I can be. I do need to play and I love so much to play with my toys, I will turn somersaults. Also, one of my favorite things is to look out my foster mom's big window and see the outside world. Those darn birdies are always taunting me through the window!! I love to be petted also but I dont want to lay in your lap much and do not really like to be carried around. I'm a girl with a mind of my own, but I will come lay down next to you and watch tv and just relax. I also like to be near my foster mom at all times, but I sleep on my own at night (someone has to be in charge of the house when everyone else is sleeping!). I am somewhat of an independent girl, but my foster mom thinks I'm perfect because I am a low maintenance kitty with a lot of love to give. Who We Are

Scout’s Honor Rescue is an all-breed, no-kill, Not-For-Profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization committed to bringing Courage, Character and Compassion to Houston’s homeless pet population and making a positive difference in the lives of these stray and abandoned animals and the Houston community as a whole. 100% of every dollar donated goes directly to saving the life of a homeless animal.

Adopting a friend

Thank you so much for sharing your heart and home with a homeless pet. We hope that all will be happy for many years to come. The homeless pet population in Houston and, in fact, around the country has exploded and we commend you for helping with the growing problem. If you are unhappy with your new pet for any reason, please give us a call. If there is something we may help you with, feel free to ask. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and micro-chipped. There is an adoption fee, adoption application and home visit required to adopt one of our animals. Each animal on our website has direct contact information to their foster parent. Just call or email and set up a meeting!

Come Visit Us!

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.
