The Scott County Humane Society, located in southwest Virginia is a group of volunteers dedicated to educate our community about the important benefits of a neuter & spay program to help reduce the number of healthy animals euthanized at our local shelter. We also foster rescued animals as space is available and help find new adoptive homes for our rescues. At this time, we do not have a shelter and depend on foster parents and tax-deductible donations to sustain our efforts. Any rescued animal is provided humane care and treatment for any medical needs. We also seek to work with our local Animal Shelter authorities and In His Hands Small Animal Rescue, Hiltons, VA to assist with the return of lost animals to their owners and to seek suitable homes for animals without owners.
Animals available for adoption will be posted on this website. Anyone interested in adopting an animal from the Scott County Humane Society will be required to fill out an adoption contract, which requires the adopted animal to be spayed or neutered within a defined period of time, or when medically recommended by a veterinarian. All adoption applications are subject to approval. Our adoption application may be filled out online as well.
