Chinese Crested Rescue of Ontario

Chinese Crested Rescue of Ontario was established in 2003; since then we have re-homed Chinese Crested dogs (and other small dogs) in need of rescue in Ontario. They have been placed into forever homes with wonderful families. Chinese Crested Rescue of Ontario was started due to the growing concern from breed fanciers and caring individuals regarding the need for rescue of this lovely breed.

We are a non-profit rescue organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned Chinese Crested dogs before they face an unkind fate. They are then placed in carefully screened, permanent, adoptive homes. Thankfully, we don't see a great many Chinese Crested dogs in rescue here in Canada like we do in the USA. But as the popularity of the Chinese Crested increases we are seeing the need for rescue also increase they as end up in shelters and animal control facilities through no fault of their own. They are surrendered for a number of reasons - this is why I put this rescue together - to help the breed I Love.

Chinese Crested Rescue of Ontario is focused on rescuing Chinese Cresteds (and other small breeds) of all ages and particularly those who are in a shelter where space is limited and death is imminent for these wonderful four legged friends. It is not generally known that there are many pure bred dogs as well as mixed breeds being euthanized on a regular and routine basis due to the problem we face with pet overpopulation.

Chinese Crested Rescue of Ontario is a group of breed enthusiasts who put together a much needed rescue for the Chinese Crested dog, saving one animal at a time until there are no more to save.

If you are interested in adopting a forever friend from our adoptive pet list please make sure you have researched the breed. Contact us for breed information and care as well as an adoption application. Upon completion of the application process and a complete veterinary and background check, we strive to match adoptive families with a forever friend who would be best suited for their family.

Our rescue is run solely by volunteers and private foster families where our rescued pets can experience the warmth and love they deserve in a home environment. After the application process is approved we will set up a meet and greet of the new potential furry friend. All of our dogs will be spayed/ neutered, shots up to date, vet checked and de-wormed prior to adoption. Adoption fees apply to each adoption this is to off set just a small portion of the vet fees and on going care some of these animals need before they are ready for adoption to their new forever homes.

If you are interested in meeting any of our animals in need of new families please feel free to contact us anytime for an appointment. Don't forget we are solely run by volunteers and it may take a day or two to get back to you but we and the homeless pets thank you for your patience. .
