We have many great Samoyeds available!
Sophie has been our "Pet of the Month" for awhile - but she has finally gotten a home of her own! Sophie has been in foster care for awhile, as she is older and has hip dysplasia. She is a very sweet girl who loves everyone and everything. She just went to her new home where she gets to live with a 4-lb Maltese, "Squeaks!" We miss her, but are glad that she has such a great new home!
Samoyed Assistance is a group of volunteers who have Samoyeds of our own and love the breed. We are a not-for-profit organization, all of our money comes from donations and fund-raising. Our volunteers come from every different background, exhibitors, breeders, pet owners, obedience participants. We have all come together to help as many Samoyeds in need as possible find loving new homes.
If you want to learn more about adopting a Samoyed, please send an email to sams4luv@aol.com
We will send you some information about us and a short questionnaire that will help us see which dog might be the best match for your family. We look forward to talking with you!
We always appreciate more volunteers and donations!! Some of the things that are volunteers do are: foster, transport dogs, help us at events, help with webpage, help with written materials. We can also always use donations of: Leashes/collars, dog treats, dog food, dog toys, grooming equipment, postage stamps, sponsorship of medical treatment (any monetary donation is a BIG help - and can be given to the Group, or given directly to our Vet).
We don't have a shelter. All of our dogs LIVE right in a foster home until we find a permanent home for them! This way, they can be evaluated in a 'home' situation to see how they are with people, other dogs, training, etc. When we find the right match, we make arrangements for the potential adopters to meet the dog and decide if that might be the right dog for their family. If you don't live near Michigan, but are looking for a Samoyed, we might also be able to get you in touch with a Rescue near you.
