The SADIE foundation is dedicated to educational efforts to slow and eventually put an end to the Pet Overpopulation crisis. There are far too many pets without homes in the DFW area and nationwide. The simple procedure of Spaying your female and Neutering your male cats and dogs to prevent reproduction is the ultimate answer to the problem. Adopting your next pet, rather than supporting a probable Puppy Mill when purchasing one, will SAVE A LIFE and you will have a wonderful companion and addition to your household. Puppy Millers must be forced out of business. No Sales = No Income = No More Breeding = Retirement for those poor animals in breeding slavery! Many times rescue groups are called in to save those animals.
We are currently NOT accepting owner surrenders into our adoption program! Owner surrenders are always "heartbreaking" for us and usually for the pet, so please find a way to keep your pet with your family. In the rare event we do have a foster home available, we will save a life in a Municipal City Shelter that could be facing his or her last days.

Who We Are
We are a Texas Non-Profit organization, 501(c)(3), dedicated to educating pet owners and future pet owners. We do offer adoptable dogs from time to time when a foster home is available. Our primary function at this time, however, is EDUCATION. Thousands of pets die each month because they are homeless and/or not properly cared for by their humans. A pet is a lifetime commitment. Maybe not your lifetime, but certainly theirs. Those who have never owned a dog have never experienced unconditional love.
"To Err is human - to Forgive is Canine".
Adopting your new "Best Friend"
ADOPTION PROCESS
Email your inquiry and ask for an adoption application.
Submit completed application as soon as possible. Incomplete applications will not be checked. We do not adopt outside the DFW and Longview, Texas areas.
After your application is approved, you will be contacted to set an appointment for the home visit. Home visits are always conducted as the final step in placing our "Kids". Since all other criteria has been met to this point, the pet of your choice comes with us to meet the family members (including resident pets). Upon approval of the home situation, the adoption agreement is executed at that time. Please let us know in advance if you are not prepared to take possession of your new family member at the end of this visit.
We DO NOT do "third party" adoptions.
AN ANIMAL IS NOT A GIFT, IT IS A LIFE!
We do not adopt until they are spayed/neutered, current on all vaccinations, heartworm negative and on preventative, micro-chipped and in the best possible overall health. We can not and do not guarantee their future health in any way. You must make this decision to adopt with your head AND your heart. You must be willing to abide by the terms of the adoption agreement. We do not "adopt and forget". It is always a special treat for us to have an adoptive family send pictures, email updates, and best of all, visit us whenever the opportunity occurs!
Our adoption fees and donations are used 100% for the ongoing expenses required for the care, health and placement of our rescued ones and sponsoring educational ventures. Adoption fees vary and are not tax deductible, nor refundable under any circumstances. Any amount greater than the stated adoption fee may be tax deductible.

Your TAX DEDUCTIBLE cash donation, no matter how large or small, would be welcomed & appreciated. ALL DONATIONS WILL HELP PAY OUR VET BILLS AND CONTINUE OUR EDUCATIONAL VENTURES! Please mail any amount you can spare to:
