Who We Are

Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation provides services for the unincorporated County of Sacramento, and to cities that contract with us for service in Northern California. Our mission is only made possible by caring staff and volunteers, and support from the public to adopt our animal friends.

Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Adoptions end 30 minutes prior to closing

Donations are always needed to help us continue to make a difference for animals in our community, especially in light of the State and County budget cuts. Donations can be sent to our non-profit affiliate, T.E.A.M. (Teaching Everyone Animals Matter) at:

Adopting a friend

You can find a full list of all animals currently at our shelter by searching our intake database. Animals that came to us as strays are placed up for adoption after a 72 business hour holding period as long as they demonstrate adoptable behavior.

We are unable to place a "hold" on any animal you are interested in adopting via email or over the phone.

ADOPTION FEES:

Cats/Dogs include s/n surgery, health vaccinations (DHPP or FVRCP), Rabies vaccination, microchip ID and Sacramento County Animal License (if applicable). Optional disease testing is also available.

Payment may be made in cash, debit card, or Visa or MasterCard. We do not accept checks.
