Who We Are

RUDE RANCH ANIMAL RESCUE, INC. is an all volunteer, no-kill organization dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, neglected and abused animals in the Baltimore - Washington DC area. Our goals are to find loving, permanent homes for any adoptable animal that has been placed under our care; to provide a safe haven and rehabilitation to feral and neglected cats rescued from abusive situations; and to put an end to needless euthanasia because of pet overpopulation. Most of the cats and kittens here at The Ranch are taken from animal control agencies and other shelters with high euthanasia rates. These animals are brought to Rude Ranch often the day, or a few days before, they are to be euthanized. Rude Ranch works with several different agencies spanning the Maryland Eastern Shore to West Virginia. Because of the quantity of cats and kittens coming from these agencies, we can only take a very small number of animals from the general public. Additionally, because we are a no-kill shelter, and may potentially care for the cat for the rest of its life, a donation is required when the animal is surrendered.

RUDE RANCH ANIMAL RESCUE is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that exists solely on donations. All donations are tax deductible. To find out how you can help go here.

All animals under our care receive all necessary vaccinations and vet care. All animals are spayed or neutered before going to their new homes.

Adopting a friend

RUDE RANCH ANIMAL RESCUE does adoptions to approved homes on an appointment basis. When you find an animal you are interested in, call or Email for an appointment to meet the animal.

RUDE RANCH ANIMAL RESCUE requires all applicants to fill out an adoption application. Each applicant will be required to: participate in an adoption interview; if approved, sign an adoption contract; and contribute an adoption fee.

All animals are spayed or neutered, dewormed, treated for fleas and earmites and have received all applicable shots for their age before leaving the shelter. In addition, all cats and kittens have been tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV or FTLV) and Feline Leukemia (FELV) and are negative unless otherwise noted.
