November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and I can't think of a better way to honor a dog's life than to give it a balanced and loving home in its twilight years. I've spoken before about the benefits of adopting a senior dog: they have a much calmer energy, require less strenuous exercise, and less often, and are most often already housebroken. They can also be invaluable tools for attempting to balance other dogs in your pack. Nothing beats a senior dog when it comes to showing younger dogs how it's done!

How Does the Adoption Process Work?

Step 3: We will call you to discuss adoption and set up an appointment for you to visit our rescue!

Adoption hours: All applications must be completed prior to an appointment time. Adoptions are from Monday-Saturday 10:00 AM till 3:30 PM. Sunday's emergency intake only.
There's always a lot of work to do here at Richardson Rescue. Right now we are in need of volunteers for the office, handymen, outside help. If you would like to help out in the office or with the web page, please contact Janet Richardson at 803-684-6865 or RichardsonRescue@aol.com. If you would like to volunteer outside and work with the animals at the rescue, please contact Tammy Ramsey at the same number. The volunteer work that you do here will not only be greatly appretiated by the animals, but it's sure to put a smile on your face as well. Please let us know if you'd be interested in volunteering at our rescue.
Pudgy is a full bred Shar Pei. Great dog that will make a wonderful companion. We love him very much and want to see him go to a good forever family. Come and meet him and fall in love. He looks better than his picture in person.
Wiggles has been with Richardson Rescue for almost a year. We just can't understand why, since wiggles is a happy well adjusted fully Vetted young lady. Won't you please rescue her and give her the love of her very own family.
Perky Purebred Chihuahua. A breeder brought Richardson rescue 23 of these beautiful needy dogs so that we could help them. Many dogs had to be shaved to remove matted fur and have been treated for fleas, nail trims, given shots, HW tests, spay/neutered and preventions given. We are looking for good forever homes. For our many lap dogs.
On average, 2 kittens per litter survive. If those two kittens aren't fixed and all of their offspring are not fixed, there eventually becomes an unfixable problem!
