"LEGEND"

There is an Indian legend which says, when a human dies there is a bridge they must cross to enter into heaven. At the head of that bridge waits every animal that human encountered during their lifetime. The animals, based upon what they know of this person, decide which humans may cross the bridge..... and which are turned away.

A Loved One is not gone, until they are forgotten! And to Live in the Hearts of those left behind is to Live Forever!

Not wanting to adopt, but want to help those that cannot help themselves?

Adoption fees only partially cover the expense of caring for all of the dogs that are taken in. Some dogs require extensive time in foster care or lengthy medical treatment, running into the hundreds of dollars. Every penny of your donation goes directly to hands-on care of these dogs.

"Why adopt a rescue dog?"

Dogs who have been uprooted from their happy homes or have not had the best start in life are more likely to bond very completely and deeply with their new people. Those who have lost their families through death, divorce or lifestyle change go through a terrible mourning process. But, once attached to a new loving family, they seem to want to please as much as possible to make sure they are never homeless again. Those dogs that are just learning about the good life and good people seem to bond even deeper. They know what life on the streets, life on the end of a chain, or worse, is all about, and they revel and blossom in a nurturing, loving environment. Most rescues make exceptionally affectionate and attentive pets and extremely loyal companions.

Dispelling the Myths About Shelter Pets

"ADOPTION"

Everything we do with rescue is financed out of our own pockets  and the greatly appreciated small caring donations of others, who care about the discard of these dogs & cats.
Adoption fees vary, depending on the age and condition of the dog. Our younger purebreds help defray costs for older or mixed breed dogs.
Between $150 and $250 are the norm, a little more for younger dogs and a little less for the older ones. In REALITY the cost for us is just the opposite.
Every dog has different needs, and these are taken into consideration when we approve an applicant. We reserve the right to refuse adoptions.
We do not ship our fosters! You must travel to KS to meet/ transport your new dog.
We do not have a permanent shelter facility. Our whole organization is made up of volunteer foster homes. We have dogs in foster homes all over the state. So...it is NOT possible to go to a "shelter" to view all  the dogs.  We ask that you submit an
Adoption Application first.

"Fostering"

One of the most loving things you can do is provide a temporary home for a dog until a permanent placement can be found.

Our Complete Pet List

Choosing a rescue dog over a purchased pup will not solve the pet overpopulation problem (only responsible pet owners and breeders can do that), but it does give many of them a chance they otherwise would not have. But, beyond doing a "good deed", adopting a rescue dog can be the best decision and addition to the family you ever made. Rescue a dog and get a devoted friend for life!
