4 Paws Rescue is a non-profit organization that assists the local Tonkawa Oklahoma Animal Shelter by finding homes for abandoned and unwanted animals. This is accomplished through posting photos on flyers, websites, and holding adoption days. Most of our animals have been rescued from our local animal shelter before they are scheduled for euthanasia. They are kept in foster homes, and are socialized with humans and other animals. Some are still at the shelter, unsure of what their future will be. Others are still with their original owners, but for whatever reason, need a new permanent home.
4 Paws operates solely on recommended donations and help from volunteers. Our funding is used to purchase basic medical supplies for preparing the animals for adoption and to purchase Science Diet pet food. 4 Paws Rescue funds are never used for salaries or other personal expenditures by our volunteers or members.
4 Paws has a NO KILL Policy, however, other organizations listed may not.
All of our animals have been wormed, and some, if stated, have been vaccinated, and may be neutered or spayed. We will inform you of the history, origin or medical records of an animal if known. Certificates of vaccinations will be provided if applicable.
If animals for other organizations are featured, they may require a fee and have different requirements. Those fees and requirements will be listed with each individual animal's information.
Our goals
1. Provide food, care, and housing for unwanted pets until permanent homes are found.
2. Encourage owners to spay/neuter, vaccinate and apply flea control.
3. Stress the importance of pet identification in case of loss or an emergency.
4. Educate owners and potential owners of the importance of feeding quality pet food and providing good health care for their animals. We feed and recommend Hill's Science Diet.

will need to complete and return via email our application. (See bottom page)
We will contact you to set up a time to pickup your new pet as soon as we
receive your information. If you have any questions, please give us a call.
4 Paws Rescue is supported solely by donations. Some animals listed may have a suggested minimum donation amount. (Higher amounts are always appreciated) This amount is determined from the amount of money we have invested in that animal. Our primary goal is to find permanent homes for these animals. If the suggested donation fee is too high, please discuss this with us. If animals from other individuals or groups are featured, we will list their fees, requirements, and
contact information in their animal profile.

As we grow, we have hopes of adding additional benefits and programs through our organization. At this time we do not have room or foster homes in place for any new animals. However, if you live locally and wish to foster an animal, new foster homes are needed. If you have a pet in need of a new home, we will post information about your pet on this site. Feel free to email us your information and any ideas or program suggestions you might want to see offered.

Due to our unique setup, not all of our animals are at the shelter. If you wish to see a pet, you can call us anytime between 9:00 AM & 6:00 PM, 7 days a week to arrange a visitation time. All animals are kept & fostered locally unless stated in their information profile.

This is accomplished through posting photos on flyers and holding adoption days. 4 Paws operates solely on recommended donations and help from volunteers. Our funding is used to purchase basic medical supplies for preparing the animals for adoption and to purchase food for the animals. We are under contract with Hills Science Diet Shelter assistance program. Science Diet pet food is what we feed our animals and recommend feeding.
Conditions of the Contract
1. I am at least 18 years of age and have consent for adoption from all adults living in my household.
2. I will have said pet vaccinated annually for rabies and provide proper veterinary care for any and all illnesses and accidents. I will use a qualified veterinarian for all check-ups and vaccinations, and inquire about any other health care procedures he/she might recommend for my pet, including spaying/neutering.
3. I agree to obey all applicable City & State laws governing control, custody, and ownership of said animal.
4. I will exercise due and reasonable care to ensure that my pet is fed and watered properly, regularly, and is housed in a clean and safe place. My pet will be kept in a manner so as not to be a danger to itself or any other animal or person.
5. I agree to protect my pet by providing a safe collar with a current ID tag and rabies tag to be worn at all times.
6. I agree to treat this animal as a family pet with affection, kindness, and never subject him/her to abuse or cruelty.
4 Paws Rescue has advised me/us that a dog or cat can sometimes dig, claw, chew, soil, and
exhibit another undesirable traits unless properly supervised, confined, and trained. I have also been advised that some animals may have been neglected, mistreated, or abused and that special care and precautions may be required. I/we further agree to hold harmless 4 Paws Rescue, its officers, volunteers, and any individuals associated with the organization. I/we understand 4 Paws Rescue is not responsible for any damages or costs resulting from liability or medical conditions, known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated, as a result of this animal's conduct after the date of this adoption contract.
We have supplied you with the status of any known vaccinations, medical treatment, or health conditions of said animal and are not responsible for any future medical bills or treatment after adoption. Most of these animals are unwanted and have been abandoned. Because of this we have no knowledge of past treatment, breeding, ownership, or health conditions of said animal unless previously stated. "Health and Care" form.
If for some reason this pet does not work out, please contact us. Do not dispose of or abandon the animal. 4 Paws will work with you to find a new home for your pet.
