Richochet's Story
When we first saw little Ricochet sitting in a cage at the shelter with a bloody ruptured eye hanging out of its socket, our hearts just ached. The shelter described him as a little lover and certainly a dog worth saving. The shelter cared for him the best that they could do but he needed eye surgery as well as leg surgery. That’s when we stepped in and saved the day for little Ricochet. His first surgery was to remove his ruptured eye. Then a couple weeks later he had major surgery to fix his broken leg. The vet thinks he was probably hit by a car. I can’t imagine staying in a cage for 3 weeks with these injuries and still having someone describe him as a sweetie pie but this is Ricochet… Mr. Resilient and so full of life and love! Ricochet is now fully healed!! The vet did a wonderful job fixing him up! Ricochet also wants to thank all of the volunteers that donated money to make his two operations possible! (Well, three operations… He also got neutered.) He can now play chase with his buddy Lil Bear, and when he gets excited he likes to jump straight up in the air just to show that he can! Ricochet does great with one eye; he doesn’t really seem to notice much. Ricochet appears a bit serious in his pictures but there are really only two things he is serious about and those are playing and eating! He loves to play with other dogs and people... and though he loves to eat, he is still fit and at a healthy weight. After a busy day of playing chase, take away, and tug of war, Ricochet enjoys napping with our teenage daughter or curling up at the foot of our bed when it’s bedtime. He also enjoys walks and meeting new people. Ricochet has a beautiful coat mixed with fall colors of red, brown, tan, and black. Ricochet would do best with a pawrent who enjoys playing and walking their pet every day. He would also enjoy being around another young, small dog to play with if possible.

Who We Are

Our mission is to locate, foster, vet, and place dogs in forever loving homes. We rescue purebred dogs previously used as breeders in Puppy Mills, dogs surrendered by their owners, lost and abandoned dogs on death row at local shelters and a few dogs found roaming the streets. We house, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, exercise, seek medical attention for, spay or neuter each dog rescued, but mostly, we give them love.

Come Visit Us
Our dogs are living in foster homes throughout the DFW metroplex. Our volunteers give freely of their time, money, and affection to save these pommies. Please keep in mind that they are ALL volunteers - no one gets paid, and we all have full-time jobs, families, and lives too. Please be patient if we cannot answer you immediately - we do strive to respond within 48 hours to all inquiries.
