To adopt Heisman, you must have prior responsible ownership of a cat and also provide a veterinary reference to be checked.

Who We Are: We are a not-for-profit, no-kill charity committed to helping orphaned and abandoned kittens find good homes. We are all volunteers. All of our expenses are funded by personal and private donations and adoption fees.

All of our cats are kept in foster homes, not in metal cages. Please note we do not have a shelter facility, so visits with the kitties take place at weekend mobile adoptions. Just ask us for details.

We adopt only to families living in the greater Houston, Texas metropolitan area; and we do not ship the animals.

All of our cats are given a health check-up by a veterinarian; spayed/neutered, FIV/FELV tested, wormed, de-fleaed, and vaccinated prior to adoption. Heisman is also microchipped. The adoption fee is $125.00 for Heisman.

Purrfect Pets has saved hundreds of homeless and abandoned kitties from death in shelters or on the streets and has placed them into permanent homes -- where they are cared for and loved for a lifetime. We need your financial help to continue this important mission.

MEETING THE KITTIES!

Purrfect Pets does not currently operate a shelter facility in which to keep the animals. Instead, all animals are fostered by families who keep the kitties lovingly in their homes until they are adopted. We hold mobile adoptions on weekends in the Houston area so that you can meet the kitties.

Since the kitties all live in our homes, they are friendly and social. They're some of the greatest "lap cats" ever! Fostering them also allows us to know their individual purr-sonalities. Ask us for recommendations. We can help you find a "purr-fect pet" that will fit right into your family.

INDOOR CAT FACTS

If you love and adore your kitty, then please keep your kitty INSIDE ONLY...... now and forever. An "Inside Only" cat will live an average of 10 years longer than a kitty that is allowed to go outside, even on "supervised" outings or just occasionally.

The "Great Outdoors" poses many dangers for cats such as moving automobiles aggressive animals (even from just across the street or next door), poisonous plants, individuals who are cruel to animals, not to mention just plain getting lost or disoriented and not being able to find their way back home.

It is a myth that cats "need" to be allowed outdoors. Please give the gift of long life to your cat!

DONATING TO HELP ORPHAN KITTIES

Please also remember the orphan kitties who do not have anyone to love them or keep them safe. They need your help!

Please assist these babies with food, shelter and medical expenses until we find them forever homes. No donation is too small, plus your donation is fully tax deductible.

We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit charity, recognized by the IRS.

We are an all-volunteer group of rescuers and cat lovers who help orphaned and abandoned kitties find permanent homes. We nurture and care for each of our kitties in our own homes until their forever homes are found.

Importantly, Purrfect Pets is a "no-kill" rescue and adoption group.

All of our kitties receive a veterinary health check-up, receive their first set of vaccines and and are spayed or neutered prior to being adopted.

In addition, the kitties are treated for fleas or other common parasites and are tested for major feline diseases such as feline leukemia and aids. Since our kittens are fostered in private homes, they all are especially loving and friendly pets.

Our mission is to rescue orphaned and abandoned kitties and to help kitties that other Good Samaritans have rescued. Because of that, we are unable to accept owner-relinquished cats. We work ONLY with kittens that do not already have homes.

ADOPTING A "PURR-FECT" PET

If you are interested in adopting a cat or kitten, we want to hear from you! Our email address is: purrfectpetsrescue@yahoo.com. Please email about any of our cats/kittens you might wish to adopt. Also, please tell us something about yourself, your pets and your family. We do have an application process and an adoption fee.

Our adoption process takes a little time -- a week or so -- and for a very good reason. We take the time to make sure every adoption is the right fit for both the family and the cat. Our adoption volunteers know each of our foster animals and their personalities very well. We will work to match you with a kitten that suits your family's desires and expectations.

Purrfect Pets adopts our kitties as INSIDE ONLY pets!!

BASIC GUIDELINES FOR CAT/KITTEN ADOPTIONS:

Be an adult age 25 years or older with the responsibility for maintaining a household.

Be the homeowner/co-owner or the leaser/co-leaser of the residence.

Adopter will be the primary caregiver of the animal.

Have prior responsible ownership of a cat.

Show current identification showing your local address and telephone number.

Have the consent and agreement of all adults living in the household to adopt the pet.

Have the financial resources to provide for the training, medical treatment and proper care of the pet for 15 years or more.

Agree that all other cats or dogs who currently reside in your home are spayed or neutered or will be prior to the adoption -- and that your current animals are up-to-date on their vaccines.

Submit an application including veterinary references and landlord references, if applicable, to be verified by the adoption counselor.

Agree to provide the cat/kitten with an INDOOR ONLY home environment. "Indoor Only" cats live 3 times as long as outdoor cats, since they are safe from outdoor dangers such as poisonous plants, attacks by dogs, accidents with automobiles, etc.

Agree to a home visit as part of the adoption process, if requested.

Provide a $95.00 adoption fee per cat/kitten for most breeds of kittens. For specialty breeds, such as Siamese, Bengals, Russian Blues, Manxes and others, the adoption fee may be higher.

< Sign a legally binding contract stating your intention to properly house, provide veterinary care for and responsibly own your cat for the length of its life.

Kitten Policy: We do not adopt kittens to families with infants and children who are under the age of 3. This is to protect the safety of both the children and the kittens. Thank you for your understanding.

We do not adopt small kittens (less than 6 months of age) to homes with children who are over the age of 3 and under the age of 8 years old. This is to protect the safety of both the children and the kittens. Thank you for your understanding.

Kittens (under the age of 8 months) must go into a home where there is another cat/kitten under the age of three, or be adopted together with a buddy or sibling. Special prices are made for buddy/sibling adoptions.

Please email us if you are interested in adopting from us, and we will send you an adoption application. Once you complete and return it, we'll set up a telephone interview with you, check your references and review your application. If you're pre-approved, we will set a time and place for you to meet the kitty......and fall in love!
