A New Piggy!

8/17/09

A baby abyssinian guinea pig was born here Monday August 17th. It's gender has not yet been determined, but once it has, it will either go to a home with it's mother(Truffles) or father(Hershey)

Fuzzy and Daisy-Adopted!

Fuzzy and Daisy, 2 female guinea pigs, were adopted by Dawn B. and family on 8/14/07! Thanks to Kelly G. for fostering the girls for a month!

Who We Are

We are a private, home-based, non-profit, no kill rescue group dedicated to saving and helping unwanted, neglected and mistreated exotics.

We have been doing rescue work for over 2 1/2 years now, since January 2007, and have had much success on helping animals and finding permanent homes for them. We are located in Houston, TX & we WILL NOT ship, no exeptions.

We are a small rescue that exists only on donations, we would gratefully accept any pet supplies or monetary donations.

***-Bedding/Litter(we specifically use CareFresh, but we'll gladly take aspen or any other bedding)***

***Guinea pig, rabbit, chinchilla, hamster, parakeet food

-Carriers

- Little homes: igloos, huts, pop-up homes

-Toys

We take in:

Birds- canaries/finches-small parrots(quaker/conure size)

Reptiles-Geckos, bearded dragons, skinks and water dragons

Small Animals- guinea pigs, hedgehogs, degus, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, chipmunks

We do not take in:

-Dogs

-Cats

-Snakes, iguanas, large or venomous reptiles

- Congos, Macaws, Cockatoos, or similar sized birds.

-Rabbits, ferrets, mice, rats, sugar gliders

-Livestock

Note: If you have an exotic we don't take in, give us a call and we will help you find an organization to take it.

Adopting a friend

All prospective adoptive homes MUST complete our adoption application and follow our adoption process. We do not ship or adopt outside of the Houston area & vicinity

Our adoption process:

-Fill out application and send a picture of the inside and outside of your home as well as a picture of the cage the animal will be living in.

-PCPR will review the application and see whether it is a good home for the animal(s).**WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY APPLICATION**

-If application is approved, set up an appointment to MEET the animal

-If your family and the animal get along, review and sign contract, pay adoption fee and take animal home

All family members must be present during time of adoption.
