Promoting Pet Adoptions & Welfare in Sulphur Springs, PPAWSS, is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue located in East Texas. We adopt out dogs and cats by appointment or at the events we host, which is usually at least 2 times a month. We have also help the Sulphur Springs Shelter get their dogs and cats adopted at our events too when we can. Tell all your friends to check our page often because we update our page daily. We launched a new website, www.ppawss.com. All of Upcoming Events are listed there. Many of your questions can be answered by visiting our website. We have many different programs to benefit the public. We also have a number of ways that YOU can help US save more of THEM!

Who We Are

We are an animal rescue dedicated to lowering the number of dogs and cats being euthanized in East Texas. We rescue dogs and cats from local shelters before they are euthanized. We are only an hour from Dallas!

Adopting a Friend

All of our animals are vaccinated and spayed/nuetered BEFORE they are placed into their fur-ever home. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for heartworms, come with a 1 year supply of heartworm medication, and wormed. If the dogs are Heartworm positive, we treat them BEFORE they go home. All of our cats are up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, and FeLuk/FIV tested. If you are interested in any of our animals, please email ppawss@hotmail.com to request an Adoption Application. We will not schedule a meeting until you have filled out an application. Please do not call or email to see if they are availble, if they are on Petfinder, they are available. Our adoption fee is $125.00 to $200.00 for dogs and $50.00 to $75.00 for cats. If the adoption fee is different for any reason, the adoption fee will be listed in the pet's description.We may charge more for certain breeds or depending what needed to be done to the pet. We do not make a profit on any of our animals, the "extra" charge helps cover vet bills, heartworm preventive for the other dogs, Heartworm Treatments, food, rescue fees, transport fees, etc.

Come Visit Us!

We do not have a shelter building at this time. We are a group of foster homes. Please check our calendar to see our upcoming adoption events. If you will be coming to meet a specific dog or cat, please let us know so we can make sure we bring them! We cannot always carry all of our available animals. Please be patient when you contact us. We are an all volunteer organization and we also work full-time jobs. We will respond as soon as we can.

Surrendering an Animal!

We receive all of our animals from shelters. We are not taking in strays or owner surrenders at this time due to limited space. We do offer a Temporary Foster and Surrender Program. Please email all of the information about your pet along with pictures to ppawss@hotmail.com

Ways to Help

We are in need of more foster homes to be able to rescue more dogs and cats! If you are interested fill out our foster application or email Ashley at ppawss@hotmail.com.

We are also in need of Chain Link Kennels and Collapsable Metal Crates to be able to carry more of our animals to adoptions. Any extra crates or kennels we are not using for an adoption event, we will use to carry animals from the Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter. Even if we do not have room to save one of their animals from euthanasia, we will do what is possible to find homes for them. We encourage you to visit the Sulphur Springs Animal Shelter if you did not find what you were looking for. They have many wonderful pets waiting to be adopted.
