" I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter.... the castoffs of human society. I saw in their eyes Love and Hope, Fear, and Dread, Sadness and Betrayal, and I was angry. I said "GOD, THIS IS TERRIBLE! WHY DON'T YOU DO SOMETHING? GOD was silent for a moment and then spoke softly, " I HAVE DONE SOMETHING" was the reply, " I CREATED YOU!!" Who We Are

Poem written by one of our adopters-hope you enjoy..... Please Adopt I have seen the look of fear in their eyes, How they cower when someone walks by; How did they arrive at this stage of their lives It always makes me cry. When they came into this world They were full of promise and life, Now they sit in a wire enclosure Alone, afraid, lives filled with strife. How does it come to be, this change that is so great; From one loved or were they born wild from the start. To see those sad faces, those forlorn eyes staring, It truly does break my heart. The love of a dog is so precious So freely given with nothing being asked But to love them, hold them so closely Is this so difficult a task…. But somewhere there is someone looking Their need for a canine friend is so great For many dogs, the clock is still ticking, For some dogs, it will soon be too late. Rescue a dog from this shelter, Make for them and yourselves a new way God in heaven will richly bless you With pure love and wet kisses each day. Copyright Joe Jenkins October 10, 2009
