Volunteer with Us

FOSTER HOMES NEDED We have several young adult dogs who need the benefits a foster home can provide. These dogs came to us with broken bones, skin conditions or other minor health issues. Their health issues have been resolved and they now need the benefit of daily one-on-one interaction in a family environment to complete their rehabilitation. Fostering is the last step in the process from rescue to adoption. Please open your heart and home to one of these wonderful animals. Any animal over four months of age is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and on preventatives. We help you decide which animal will fit well within your home and family. We do all the background checks and home visits prior to adoption. The foster parents' knowledge of the dog's needs plays a large part in the adoption finalization. IF YOU CANNOT FOSTER, we have other volunteer opportunities that are equally challenging and rewarding. We can find something to fit your schedule! Donations are always needed and appreciated!

Pet Rescue Founation's existance depends upon donations and volunteer help. Donations for prescription food, vet care, and kennel supplies are needed. Sponsorship

We have several older and disabled dogs that will live out their lives here. Please consider a monthly donation (sponsorship) for their care. Here are some ideas of sponsorship donations. $150 will sponsor a heartworm treatment. $50 will sponsor a spay/neuter for one of our pets. $25 will sponsor yearly vaccinations for one pet. You can also make a donation in any amount to the pet of your choice! You can indicate on the memo blank on your check what you would like your donation to go to. Who We Are

Pet Rescue Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit, non-euthanizing rescue based in Goochland County, VA. We provide a sanctuary for old, injured, ill, abused, orphaned and handicapped homeless pets until they can be adopted into loving, responsible, permanent homes. We also have highly adoptable dogs waiting for a family.

Adopting a friend

Many of our dogs available for adoption have recovered from the injury or illness that brought them to us. Most are younger dogs that have lots of years to spend with a loving family. Not all are listed on the site. Please email us with details about the dog you are searching for. Consider giving an older dog a second chance at the good life . While some shelters consider older or handicapped dogs unadoptable, we believe there is a good home for each of them. They have love to give just as much as a younger animal, their behavior is predictable and in most cases there are no health issues to deal with. If you can't take an animal into your home, would you please consider sponsorship of an animal with special needs? Pet Rescue Foundation can always use support to pay the bills to care for these gentle spirits.
