We have lots of great cats available for adoption. Please drop by the Brentwood PetSmart store and find your new friend. Please talk with us if you are looking for a special color or breed because we have dozens of young adult cats of all kinds that we would happily bring to PetSmart. Thanks for the wonderful support.
Pet Placement, which began in July of 1997, is a St. Louis -based, all volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit dog and cat rescue group. We receive no outside funding, but exist on donations, adoption fees and fundraisers. We are all volunteers, so all money received goes directly to care for the rescued pets. Donations to us are tax deductible. A copy of our IRS ruling or a copy of our financial statement is available upon written request to P.O. Box 190244, St. Louis, MO 63119 -6244.
Our mission is to save the lives of homeless, found and unclaimed or displaced dogs and cats. Our animals come from city or county animal shelters or belong to owners who can no longer care for them, or have been found by persons who cannot find its owner or keep the pet and seek an alternative to taking it to a facility where it would be euthanized if not adopted within a period of time. We foster them in our homes until a suitable, loving, permanent home is found for them through our application and screening process which may also include a home visit.
WE ONLY ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE ST. LOUIS METROPOLITAN AREA.
When rescued, our dogs and cats receive a thorough veterinary examination and are treated for any illnesses or conditions they have. They are vaccinated, wormed, receive a rabies vaccination and are spayed or neutered. All our cats are FeLV and FIV tested, and all our dogs are tested for heartworms. All our dogs and cats have been microchipped. Since these pets live in our foster homes, we are able to tell you what we have learned about their personalities and dispositions.
We will take the cat or dog back at any time in their lifetime if circumstances arise and you can no longer keep the pet you adopted from us.
We hold adoption days:Every Saturday and most Sundays at the Brentwood Promende Center PetSmart store from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Our dogs and cats are available for adoption at any time by appointment by calling 314-781-1034.
Some of our cats can be seen weekdays in the Adoption Center of the PetSmart store in the Brentwood Promenade Center (Hwy 40/64 and Brentwood Blvd.) ).
Our greatest need is foster homes and financial donations. Shortages of finances and foster homes to keep the dog or cat until it is adopted limits the number of pets we can save. If you cannot foster, there are many ways you can help as a volunteer such as at adoption days, with the newsletter or with fundraisers. Please contact us to inquire about ways you can help.
