JOIN US AT THE FARMER'S MARKET

We will have an adoption booth Thursday November 5th at the Farmer's Market in Ocala at Circle Square Commons, Top of the World, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (weather permitting). The market also features locally-grown fresh seasonal produce, baked goods, plants, hand-made soaps and more. We look forward to seeing you there! For directions, call Gary or Antonio (352) 427-3982 or email us: floridapets@yahoo.com .

MICROCHIPS

Recently we took in a purebred dog that had been found stray with no identification tags. In an effort to find his owner, we had him scanned for a microchip. And Bingo! Yes, the dog has a microchip! BUT GUESS WHAT -- IT WILL NOT HELP HIM AT ALL BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER REGISTERED BY THE OWNER!

When you have a microchip implanted by a vet, or if you get a dog that has a chip in it, you must register yourself as the owner in the database of the company that made the microchip.

The two major manufacturers of microchips are Avid and Home Again. Registration costs about $15 and must be mailed to the company. Your vet does not do this when he puts in the microchip - you must do it yourself separately. Please check and see if your pet has a microchip and register it NOW! And if you have moved, make sure you have notifed the microchip company about your change of address and contact information. Your pet's life could depend on it.

Email us for further information about microchips.

WISH LIST:

Our rescues need what every pet needs; love, nutritious food, treats, leashes, collars, shampoo, and toys to play with while they wait for their forever home. Currently we are in need of flea medication. Please help Nala and her friends by donating a gift certificate from Petco.

THANK YOU!

A Big Thank You to Bob's Tire & Brake, Ultimo Spa, Mary Ann's Uniforms, Beauty Within, and Rainbow River Animal Hospital for hosting our donation banks!

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

We are looking for foster homes in Ocala for our dogs. Foster care would last for 4 weeks, or less if the dog gets adopted. Foster parents care for a dog, providing food, shelter and love. Pet Network is responsible for any veterinary care, if necessary. The foster parent must be able to bring the dog to adoption on Saturdays.

If you are able to foster a dog for us, please contact Mary; floridapets@yahoo.com .

Or mail your donation to:

Adopting a friend

Pet Network is a no-kill rescue group doing pet adoptions in Citrus, Marion, and Alachua Counties in FL. Dogs coming through our rescue are brought up to date on vaccinations, checked for heartworms and other parasites, placed on heartworm preventive, and spayed or neutered before placement.

We do local adoptions only. We have an application process which includes a home visit. Our goal is to match the right pet to the right home!

Come Visit Us!

Pet Network uses foster homes instead of a commercial animal shelter facility. Our dogs are shown by appointment. We hold outreach pet adoptions at the Petco on St. Rd. 200 in Ocala every Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Let us know if you need directions!
