Pet Guards is at this time cat-only shelter. We currently have as many cats as we feel that we can care for well and are not taking in any more until we have found homes for the many that we have. We no longer have the facilities to house dogs or puppies, nor do we have the facilities or funding to handle wild or feral cats. If you would like to get your friendly cat or kittens on a waiting list, stop into Pet Guards and fill out a waiting list form, or send a letter addressed to Miss Lily containing information about your felines such as age, color, whether they have had vet care, temperament and the reason you would like to find a new home for it. To meet any of the fabulous felines waiting for a new home, our adoption center is inside U-Bathe-M, 2427 State Rd., Cuyahoga Falls. Wed-Fri 9-4 and Sat-Sun 10-2. The adoption center is manned by volunteers and no intake is done there. If you are looking for a loving companion, please consider looking at an adult cat. They not only have a personality that kittens don't have, but they are often more grateful for getting something that they have lost, a home. Unfortunately, black cats are the hardest to find loving homes for. There are so many black and black and white cats looking for homes that they are easily overlooked for the flashy orange tabbies or calicos. What many people don't realize is that black cats are usually so nice and loving where the pretty ones can be stuck up (they realize that they are pretty). Please consider adopting a black cat today. Pet Guards Clinic is as always open to the public and treats dogs and cats of all ages. For vaccinations and well-checks, no appointment is necessary. Appointments are required for spay/neuter surgeries. Stop into Pet Guards during regular business hours: Tuesday through Friday between 12 noon to 6 pm and Saturday between 10 am to 4 pm.
