Who We Are
Pet-4-Pets is a non-profit, no-kill, all volunteer organization helping homeless cats. The cats are housed in foster homes in the Frederick, Md area. Some of these animals are brought to Frederick PetSmart to be shown and adopted on Sundays.
Adopting a friend
All cats are neutered or spayed before any adoption is done. All animals are vaccinated according with their age. Cats are tested for FIV and Leukemia. All pets are treated for worms, ear-mites, and fleas when they enter the rescue. All cats are micro chipped and come with 30 days of free health insurance.
At the time of adoption, each prospective owner will fill out an adoption application and an interview will take place. If approved, there is a contract that needs to be filled out and the pets medical information will be given to the new owner. There is an adoption fee of $125.00 for the cats. This fee covers only a small portion of the cost for these animals. A follow-up check will be done after the adoption.
When these pets are adopted, people need to remember that the initial adjustment of these pets to your home can be difficult as the animal learns to trust you. Separation anxiety, fear of noises, and attempts to hide are common, but once you are past the first few months, the animal learns to depend on the kindness of their new family.
