Chanel is sometimes timid, but friendly and very loving. She came in with a microchip that showed she was adopted ~5 yrs. ago from a humane society in Wisconsin, but it was never registered. She is currently living in a foster home where she is completely housetrained. She gets along well with the other three dogs and the two cats who also live there. Who We Are... We are a small group of volunteers in Southwestern Indiana that works with Posey County Animal Control and the City of Mt. Vernon Animal Control to find homes for dogs after their 10-day holding period is over. Dogs are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested before going to a new home. If a dog tests positive for heartworm, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful.
PC Pound Puppies News! Please visit us at PetSmart in Evansville, Indiana on Burkhardt Road every Sunday from 11am - 4pm. Come out and meet some of the wonderful dogs that make their way into our lives!
Adopting a New Friend Please have a look at our available pups and if you see one you are interested in, contact us to set an appointment. You can also visit us at Petsmart on the east side of Evansville on Sundays from 11am-4pm!
Each dog receives a Bordetella, DHPPC vaccination and worming when they come into the shelter. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family.
