Help our kitties by donating supplies on our Wish List! Paws-n-Purrs Pet Rescue is always in need of donations so that we can continue to provide the best care for the cats that we rescue! Any and all donations are appreciated! Monetary donations go toward veterinary expenses and the cost of cat food and cat litter. We ARE NOT accepting any new cats or kittens into our rescue at this time. Until we are able to find permanent adoptive or temporary foster homes for some of the cats and kittens we currently care for, we are unable to bring any new ones in. However, if you would like to be added to our waiting list or receive a list of no-kill rescues/shelters that may be able to help you place cats or kittens, e-mail us at pawsnpurrsrescue@yahoo.com.
At this time, we can not process any out-of-state adoptions. We are only able to foster out or adopt kittens/cats to people who live in Ohio.

Who We Are
We are a small rescue located in Chillicothe, Ohio, and are run by a vet tech in-training ... so you can be guaranteed our adoptables are well cared for, properly socialized and receive the best possible medical attention! Right now we only take in and adopt out cats, as we do not yet have the resources to care for other types of animals. Our cats are primarily strays that were either lost or dumped by their previous owners. The cats are rescued by Paws-n-Purrs, vetted and fostered in a home environment until they are placed in forever adoptive homes, where they will live INDOORS only. We also take in cats that are at risk of being euthanized at shelters. We then put them into our rescue where they are safe and are at NO risk of being put to sleep. We take adoptions very seriously. We are NOT a 501c3 at this time, but do hope to gain this status in the future. We are always taking DONATIONS to help pay vet bills and buy food and litter for the cats we rescue. Because we do not have 501c3 status, we can NOT give a tax deductible receipt for any donations. Adoption fees
Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, combo testing, current vaccinations, and treatment for fleas/worms. We DO give discounts to people who adopt more than one cat/kitten together at the same time! Prices are as follows:
Purebred kittens or adults: $150;
Kittens 6 months and younger: $100 if spayed/neutered prior to adoption; adoption fee negotiable if spay/neuter will be done at adopter's own cost after kitten is adopted;
Kittens 6 months to 1 year: $75;
Adults 1 year and older: $50;
Special-needs adult cats: $25
Adopting a friend
STEPS WE FOLLOW TO ADOPT: Paws-n-Purrs Pet Rescue has an adoption application that we require to be filled out and mailed/e-mailed for consideration to adopt a cat. It can be received by e-mailing us at pawsnpurrsrescue@yahoo.com with “request for an adoption application” in the subject line. We then review the application and check references. After review and verification of information, we conduct a telephone interview. Following a phone interview, a home visit is then scheduled. After all of these steps are completed, an appointment to meet the cat is arranged. All cats are fostered in a private home setting and an appointment must be scheduled in order to meet a cat. All applicants must be screened before an appointment can be set, NO exceptions. Once all steps are finalized to adopt, we require adopters to pick up the cat(s)/kitten(s) at the location they are being fostered. Adopters must bring their own carrier(s) to transport cat(s) home safely. 1.) Adoption Application filled out and returned. This can be e-mailed to you by request from pawsnpurrsrescue@yahoo.com; 2.) Rescue will review application and information; 3.) Rescue will check references; 4) Rescue will conduct a telephone interview; 5.) Rescue will conduct a home visit; 6.) Potential adopter will meet cat(s); and 7.) Adoption! WE NEED FOSTERS AND VOLUNTEERS! If you are interested in fostering in Ohio or volunteering in various areas, please contact us via e-mail for an application. We are looking for volunteers to help with fundraisers, transport pets from out-of-town shelters to our vet’s office, and other tasks. We also ALWAYS need responsible fosters. They are the backbone of this rescue and we really need more caring people willing to open their homes in order to help save more cats in the future.
