There is a DONATION BIN in the cat room at the PETCO IN HERMITAGE. PLEASE bring any supplies for exotics (or dogs) to help an animal in the rescue.. If you'd like to give a monetary donation they are welcomed and of course tax deductible. We are always in need of parrot food and supplies, reptile supplies, cages, lighting etc. New or gently used are both welcome! Gift cards are also appreciated if your unsure what you'd like to give (even for gas to transport them). You may purchase your products from Petco's great supply or bring your donation in from elsewhere. Thank you for helping the exotics our rescue saves! As anyone knows that has exotics they are very expensive to care for properly. We always take the newly rescued exotic to the vet for a checkup as they can mask illnesses. It's usually about $75 to walk in the door!
WE ARE THE ONLY 501(C)(3) PARROT AND EXOTIC RESCUE IN THE AREA- We welcome donations and corporate sponsorships! IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE VETTING THE EXOTIC ANIMALS!! DONATIONS HAVE BEEN SLIM THIS YEAR AND WE'VE NOT HAD ANY FUNDRAISERS AT ALL. WE ALSO NEED FUNDRAISERS, GRANTWRITERS AND SUPPLIES!!
We prefer adopters with experience or a very good new learner :) Serious inquiry's only. The parrots we have now need a home. We are unable to drive and meet you also unable to hold the birds for you. Please read this all the way to the bottom of their bio and then if you are interested and if approved can get the bird soon please write us.
Kimbers Kritters Parrot and Exotic Animal Rescue-Sanctuary - we take in exotics even if they are unruly!!! Have experience from primates to Siberian Lynx.
We are a 501(c)(3) non profit animal rescue! This means any donations are tax deductible! If you would like to sponsor an animal or send a donation you can do so and it will be tax deductible. Our mailing address is PO Box 41401 Nashville TN 37204. We are actually in Shelbyville TN but in Nashville during the week due to work and school.
If you would like to make a donation via paypal just click the button below that says "make a donation". Most people only surrender and exotic when they have health problems. If you have supplies we could use them also. We can always used UVB lights for the reptiles and parrots. They cost about $89 each. A well check up on an exotic is usually about $300.00 for the office visit and labs...sometimes more. If one is sick it can run much much more. We never recoup the fee's paid on the exotics in our program. I homeschool my daughter and the animals are a main part of our life. I feel we owe the animals...God put them here and we need to help those in need. We use the adoption fee's adopters pay to rescue others in need. We only take in what we or our credit cards can afford and we have time to spend with. We have fosters to help a "normal" exotic we take in. We also have dog program which mainly consists of those with health problems or Katrina Surviors. We can give you a tax donation slip to count the donation off your taxes. If you want an animal but can't for various reasons this is a great way to help. OR if you have extra money or need a write off. We understand and greatly appreciate whatever amount you might do. We are currently trying to start an animal sanctuary in South Carolina that will be open to the public. We are needing money to care for the existing pets, future pets and to help with the building of it in South Carolina. You can also sponsor a pet. You will receive pictures and IF they adoptee says its okay you can actually converse with them. We are needing help with a website. You can then see pictures of some of the very exotic ...exotics we have such as African Servals, a huge African Spur thigh tortoise, high content wolfdogs, an African Vervet monkey and others.. Thank you for helping us and helping the animals! We have 4 very special dogs that were in Katrina (one was the after effect). We really really need to find them their own special home.. If anyone could put up flyers. We also need fosters for future pets we take in. Thank you! Kim, Kimber and the Kritters If you know how to write grants etc for funding please email me. I have another friend that is a 501(c)(3) that desperately needs help or will have to close.
We are a small 501(c)(3)non profit rescue. We are NO KILL. We fully vet the pet and spare no expense.. we've do it all from Palate and Nare surgery to removing tumors on an elderly pet. Our vet loves that we never give up.. We do exotic rescue but have extensive dog rescue experience due to helping one of the first 501(C)(3)s in TN. We take in all legal exotics. We're not a shelter and therefore have no set hours. We have fosters that care for alot of the pets. We get very few pets in so if you see someone that catches your eye please email for an application immediately. We also have a place in South Carolina and the pets we take in often are well traveled. We will be building in the near future an animal education center and rescue in South Carolina.
Who We Are

Please don't buy a parrot when you can get one we have in rescue :) They are so appreciative of a new home. Most parrots will "try" you if you scream when they bite it will happen again as they love the reaction- much like a 2 year old that bites! We prefer experienced homes and require it on some. Please do not let this offend you as it's in the best interest of the exotic and you!
Email us for an application and as to when you could pick up the pet if approved. !
If you know how to write grants etc for funding please email me. I have another friend that is a 501(c)(3) that desperately needs help or will have to close.
We take in all exotics including permitted monkeys, raccoons, coatimundis, servals, lynx, wolfdogs, parrots and reptiles. We take them in no matter how unruly and will find a quality home. Email if you need an animal rescued, want to adopt a rescue, or need education. Our number to do a rescue is 615-944-7387. If you are wanting to adopt an animal please email and DO NOT call. We are full of fosters at the present, but will put you on a list after extensive references etc :) Usually not many exotics come in unless we're called by a vet or shelter to help with a cruelty case.

We usually meet people at Petco as you get discount coupons when you adopt :) We usually assist owners of parrots with their birds and try to keep them in their home not to stress the birds by moving to an in between foster home..though many times we do take them in :)
